Betty (America Ferrera) gets the chance of a lifetime on a new episode of Ugly Betty. The only problem she'll have to face is: so many others are struggling for the same opportunity. The battle of her dreams (or nightmares) begins tonight on “When Betty Met YETI.”
Marc (Michael Urie) gives Betty a hard time when the two of them compete for a spot on YETI, the Young Editors Training Program. It could just as well be their ticket out of the drab life of being an assistant, ending their long-running tenures at Mode. However, there's only room for one of them. They have to earn the vacant spot, going the distance to impress the administrative powers that be.

On tonight's episode of Ugly Betty, Betty is getting herself a new moniker: “Tornado Girl.” Well, not really. Don't think once that she's out to don a superhero costume and fly. It's only the weight of her job catching up with her. The strain of working at the prestigious Mode is increasing, and the question on everyone's mind is if Betty can handle it.
“Tornado Girl,” the eighth installment of the series' third season, will be a test for our favorite Mode assistant. When Daniel (Eric Mabius) gives Betty (America Ferrera) a chance to prove herself, she gets involved in a scandalous situation that spells trouble for the company. Betty tries to fix things before it's too late, but so many concerns get in her way.

One of the most remarkable things about Ugly Betty is its ability to snag the best actors and actresses to appear as guest stars on their show. It makes the series more memorable and pretty much drags in more viewers and fans. Ugly Betty is continuing its success, bringing in the actress who played the gutsy heroine of Hairspray, Nikki Blonsky.
Blonsky has just earned a Golden Globe award for her film role, and now she's taking over the small screen. She signed on for a guest spot on the ABC series, playing a character named Teri. Sources reveal that Teri is an assistant at the Mode rival company, Elle. Despite that, she bonds with Betty (America Ferrera) over their shared experiences in life. However, this could spell disaster for Betty since she's not sure if Teri has an ulterior motive.

Last week on Ugly Betty, we saw Lindsay Lohan’s continuing stint on the ABC series, where she plays Kimmie Keegan, an obnoxious, ambitious young woman from Betty’s past. On last week’s episode, Kimmie showed up and asked Betty to help her find a job, but Betty had other things in mind. Meanwhile, Justin stepped up and auditioned for a Broadway musical, while Daniel signed up for a matchmaking service.
While Lindsay Lohan’s stint on Ugly Betty seemed to be a success, a rumor recently sparked regarding her shortened stay on the show. Rumor has it that there was a huge conflict between Lohan and Ugly Betty star America Ferrera. Recently, Lindsay’s mother, Dina came out to clear out these issues.

Tonight on Ugly Betty, we see how asking for a little help might be something you might regret. Lindsay Lohan returns as a guest star on the series, with the new episode titled “Granny Pants.” This time, many of our favorite characters have decided to try new things, which may yield surprising results.
On “Granny Pants,” Betty's old nemesis Kimmie Keegan (Lindsay Lohan) shows up and asks Betty to help her find a job. However, it seems as though Betty (America Ferrera) isn't ready to give up the high school grudge just yet. She thinks of creating some trouble for Kimmie, much to the astonishment of her co-workers.

Ugly Betty returns for its fourth episode tonight, marking the return of one of the series' favorite characters: Gio. Written by Chris Black and directed by Michael Spiller, “Betty Suarez Land” also carries some big news for Daniel. Revelations abound on this episode, as people try to renew relationships and build up others.
On tonight's “Betty Suarez Land,” Gio (Freddy Rodriguez) comes back to Mode. Betty is thrilled to see him once again, but the feeling isn't mutual. She tries to patch things up with him after he declares outright disdain for her. His return isn't as happy as Betty (America Ferrera) expected, since Gio seems reluctant to reconcile with her. It's a question of whether Betty's apologies succeed or not.

Ugly Betty's writer and producer Silvio Horta responded to fans' questions on Variety's Season Pass earlier this week. He received many queries, but only some were chosen. He spent some time poring over all that was sent to him, and was very patient and humble enough to reply.
One of the first things Horta chose to answer was the similarities of his version of the show to the international adaptations. He said that Ugly Betty was based on the Colombian show, Yo Soy Betty La Fea, which translates to “I am Betty the ugly one.” However, Horta's Betty has a personality that makes her stand out. “[S]he is vastly different. This comes from cultural differences, my writing choices, America Ferrera's acting choices, and so on. The shape and premise of the series is the same, but the characters, their stories, their voice, etc. are different.”

Following the third season premiere of Ugly Betty, America Ferrera made an appearance on Rachael Ray's talk show last October 1st. The series star talked about her role this year, the changes happening on the Ugly Betty set, and some misfortunes she's had to encounter.
America comically revealed to the audience that she had an Ugly Betty moment at the recent Emmy Awards celebration. She almost flashed the entire audience when her wardrobe malfunctioned during the commercial break. Her designer gown fell apart, but it was lucky that she wasn't on stage. America was merely waiting to present an award with her Ugly Betty co-star Vanessa Williams when the incident left her exposed.
