One of the best new shows of the fall season is HBO's True Blood, which airs its highly anticipated season finale this Sunday at 9pm. The first season of the vampire drama has been packed with jaw-dropping surprises, but perhaps the most shocking twist was the reveal that kindhearted bar owner Sam Merlotte, played by actor Sam Trammell, is a shape-shifter. Sookie has grown closer to Sam since discovering his secret, but with a murderer on the loose and her jealous vampire boyfriend on the rampage, they probably won't live happily ever after.
I had a chance to sit down with Sam Trammell today to talk about his role on the hit HBO series. Read on for his thoughts on his character's complicated romantic relationships, what he hopes to see in True Blood's second season, and what fans can expect in Sunday's season finale.

While sitting through an early screening of Twilight yesterday, I came to a not-so-stunning realization: teen girls are obsessed with vampires. The love story between Edward Cullen and Bella Swan had many young ladies in the audience squealing with delight, which is something I haven't experienced since I donned a disguise and crept into a showing of High School Musical 3. If you walk by a theater this weekend, there's a good chance you'll hear shrieks of ecstasy as Twilight melts the hearts of girls around the country.
While the Cullen clan rakes in the cash at the box office this weekend, HBO's vampire drama True Blood will be airing its first season finale. Much like Twilight, the series revolves around a relationship between a sexy vamp and a human girl. With viewers swooning over both Edward Cullen and True Blood's Bill Compton, I have to ask, which vamp would make the better boyfriend?

We're less than one week away from the first season finale of True Blood, and no character is safe. Maudette, Dawn, Grandma Stackhouse and now Amy have all died at the hands of the serial killer, while poor vampire Eddie met his own demise. There are several answers we can expect to come from the season finale, including the final showdown with the killer and what the naked lady with the pig, Maryann Forrester, is up to with Tara in her giant mansion.
More important than those questions is who will die on True Blood. This is a show not afraid to kill off major characters. I suspect there will be at least one big death next week, hopefully a few. Obvious Sookie and Bill are the core of True Blood, and we know a few actors who have already been named series regulars for season 2, but everyone else is up for grabs.

With only two episodes remaining in True Blood's first season, it's time to start preparing ourselves for the long hiatus we'll have to endure before season 2 premieres. It may be a while before we get a chance to visit the town of Bon Temps again, so I'm hoping next week's season finale doesn't leave us with any stressful cliffhangers.
The past few episodes of the series have really moved the plot forward at a breakneck pace, ramping up the tension and leaving viewers hungering for more. Last week's installment found Bill attending the vampire tribunal, Sookie being stalked by the town serial killer, Tara learning the truth about her exorcist, and Jason getting into deeper trouble than usual. Read on to see a description and promo for tonight's episode, entitled "To Love is To Bury."

Much like all great shows, True Blood answered many questions in last night's episode while asking many others. That's right - I'm declaring True Blood a great show. With just two episodes left in its first season, HBO's vampire drama is one of the most engaging and entertaining shows on TV.
The vampire mythology alone is enough to draw anyone in, and last night True Blood expanded it with the introduction of the Tribunal and the evil Magister. But the show has so much more to offer, with its compelling characters and deepening mysteries, and in these final two episodes, the Bon Temps Murderer storyline is back front and center where it belongs.

No one can say HBO's True Blood doesn't know how to end an episode. Each installment of the series wraps up with a shocking twist or terrible cliffhanger that leaves fans clamoring for more. Last week's episode concluded with Sookie (Anna Paquin) inviting a stray dog into the house to sleep at her feet, which would have seemed like an inconsequential event on any other show. However, things took a turn for the weird when Sookie woke up in the middle of the night and found that the dog had transformed into a naked Sam Merlotte. With that surprising reveal, the town of Bon Temps became just a little bit stranger.
With only three episodes remaining in True Blood's first season, tonight's installment promises to be a real thrill ride. Read on for a description and promo for "I Don't Wanna Know."

In Bon Temps, Louisiana, Merlotte's is the perfect place for fun. The waitresses are sassy and psychic and there's always the chance to meet a real-life vampire. The food is good, but don't tick off the flamboyantly gay cook or he could serve you a scalding hot spoon with your soup.

One of the most fascinating things about HBO's True Blood is the way it's slowly unveiled a world full of intriguing supernatural elements. Readers of Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse novels likely know what strange and unusual things lurk in the town of Bon Temps, but for those of us with no knowledge of the books, the show has provided one surprise after another. The series began with only vampires and a mind reader, but since then both evil demons and a weredog have been introduced. With the True Blood universe getting stranger by the episode, what supernatural creatures will Sookie (Anna Paquin) run into next? Check out our spoiler-free speculation below.
