Another music artist is coming to the fictional city of Genoa. Trace Adkins, country music singer-songwriter, will be making a guest appearance on The Young and the Restless on Friday, May 2.
Though Adkins has appeared on a number of television shows, this will be his first time to appear on a soap opera. The Hiltons have had plenty of TV exposure over the last month. Paris Hilton has made a guest appearance on a recent episode of My Name is Earl, her brother Barron has become a staple gossip show subject following his DUI arrest, while sister Nicky has been featured on Entertainment Tonight on several occasions. While being a Hilton may seem like living in a soap opera world with all the wealth, scandal and the occasional arrest, Paris' mother, Kathy Hilton seems to have room for more drama.
Kathy, 49, is set to appear on The Young and the Restless on the soap's May 13 episode, which was filmed yesterday. The socialite-turned-actress will be gracing the fictional city of Genoa as herself, ruffling some feathers by taking over a magazine photo shoot.

The Young and the Restless will be playing a part in The CW's “ultimate social experiment” as cast members Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers Newman) welcome the hotties and nerds of Beauty and the Geek.
Previously on Beauty and the Geek, the newly formed beauty-geek duos were presented with challenges involving love and science. While the beauties worked on a homemade science project, the geeks offered relationship advice to live callers on Dr. Drew's nationally syndicated radio program, Loveline. At the end of the episode, Jim and Tiffany were eliminated.

Plans to have Lauralee Bell reprise her role as Christine in time for The Young and the Restless' 35th anniversary celebration have now been scrapped. The 39-year-old actress has turned down the opportunity to return on the long running soap on a recurring basis despite the convincing power of her own mother, Young and the Restless co-creator Lee Phillip Bell, and the pleadings of sister-in-law Maria Arena Bell, the show's new co-head writer.
"I've never been pressured so much in the nicest way than when I was asked to come back," Lauralee Bell told Soap Opera Digest.
