Perhaps in an effort to chip into the big procedurals pie currently conquered by CBS, ABC is launching a series about quirky cops next month.  The Unusuals, starring Joan of Arcadia alum Amber Tamblyn, is set to premiere on April 8, Wednesday at 10pm.  Joining Tamblyn are Harold Perrineau from fellow ABC series Lost, and Adam Goldberg from Friends and HBO‘s Entourage.Tamblyn, 25, starred as the God-seeing Joan Girardi on the CBS drama Joan of Arc, a role which earned her Golden Globe and Emmy nominations in 2004.  She plays Detective Casey Shraeger on the upcoming ABC series, an NYPD detective who was transferred from a vice unit to the homicide division and found out that everyone in her new department has “a distinct sense of humor” and “their own dirty little secrets.” Read more »
On tonight‘s season 1 finale of The Unusuals - "E.I.D." - Beaumont and Cole talk to a couple regarding a break-in at their home.  They learn that while nothing valuable was taken, the couple found out that an adult film they rented was shot in their apartment.  Following Delahoy and Banks identifying other apartments used in the series of adult films, Cole starts to realize a common pattern among all the dysfunctional tenants. In an effort to set the scene for another movie, Beaumont and Cole go undercover.Elsewhere on the episode, Shraeger starts to become emotionally invested in trying to help a serial accuser who was the victim of a violent attack ten years ago after disappearing from a big prep school party. Read more »
