Nicole Richie might find herself in the same boat as her The Simple Life co-star and BFF, Paris Hilton. Police have stated that when they pulled Richie over last year, the 25 year-old was under the influence of alcohol and some unnamed drug. In February, she was charged with a DUI, and during an interview with Ryan Seacrest on the latter’s radio show, Richie said that she is ready to assume responsibility for her actions and to face “whatever consequences” they may bring.

As we told you earlier, The Simple Life star Paris Hilton asked her fans to help her get a pardon after being sentenced to forty-five days in jail for driving with a suspended driver’s licence. (Her license was suspended after a reckless driving charge involving alcohol.) She hoped to make a request to the governor to avoid jail time entirely.

The Simple Life’s Paris Hilton has, in more than one occasion, subjected her self to VIP treatments in most aspects in her life. But with the gravity of her current charges, her money, power and charisma might not work in favor of her freedom. Or can it?
