After a season of drama, Bravo reality show The Real Housewives of New York City comes to a close tonight with the season finale, and if the network is to be believed, things should get "explosive" and ultimately "entertaining.  For one, there should be drama as the charity event finally approaches, and Jill and Ramona discover that Bethenny is promoting her own brand at the event behind their backs.  Of course, they‘re livid.Elsewhere on the finale, Bethenny gives LuAnn‘s housekeeper Rosie a cooking lesson.  Little did everyone expect that Rosie would end up teaching lovelorn Bethenny a few tips about dating.  Meanwhile, Jill enlists the help of Kelly to pick out a donation for her charity event at a high-end jewelry store just as the eccentric owner gushes over Kelly. Read more »
After the Real Housewives of New York City finale last night, it seems as if there is also a lot of drama unfolding behind the scenes.  Fox News reports that there was a mini-scuffle between Real Housewives of New York City star Jill Zarin and high-end boutique Intermix."Jill was at the store and acting like a total nightmare.  Her stylist took home all these dresses and then returned one with a huge stain down the front," said a source. "She didn‘t offer to pay for the dress or even say she would pay to have it cleaned." Read more »
The recent finale of The Real Housewives of New York City capped off a very successful season for Bravo‘s Real Housewives franchise, if the ratings would be the sole basis.  The just-concluded season of the reality show had an average of 1.6 million viewers per episode, around 50 percent higher than its debut run.  While it may sound miniscule by network standards, 1.6 million is higher, for instance, than AMC‘s critically acclaimed series Mad Men.  Benefiting from this popularity, the New Jersey version of the franchise became Bravo‘s highest-rated preview show ever, with 1.43 million who tuned in."Everyone likes to judge," explained Jennifer O‘Connell, executive vice president of Shed Media US, which produces the New York show, adding that the housewives are not filmed on set.  They instead follow their lives out there. Read more »
Kelly Bensimon didn‘t exactly come across as a fan favorite when she joined The Real Housewives of New York City. During the second season reunion special, Bethenny Frankel, LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer and Jill Zarin revealed they would vote Kelly off the show if they had the chance. Additionally, Bravo‘s poll, in which users were asked which New York Housewife should be taken out of the series, showed that Kelly overwhelmingly garnered over 80 percent of the votes, with Ramona coming in second with a little less than 10 percent. Not surprisingly, rumors surfaced that Kelly would not be returning for the third season of The Real Housewives of New York City.   Read more »
If Real housewives of New York City‘s Bethenny Frankel were to be asked, the housewives over at the garden state aren‘t all that exciting compared to the boob-job-getting, backstabbing ladies of the big apple, but their husbands are a different matter entirely."I‘m not finding the actual content all that riveting (and I mean not even in a "can‘t look away from a train wreck kind of way")," she writes on her E! Online blog.  "I find it pretty boring so far, and I think it is largely because the husbands may be the most interesting characters, and they don‘t seem to be surfacing anytime soon." Read more »

The "Lost Footage," which aired last week, should have stayed hidden for so many reasons. While it did feature some never before seen scenes from the first season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, most of the footage was just good-humored nonsense ---and not the kind of mind-blowing drama you‘d expect from these ladies. In a nutshell, the show focused on the Manzo kids talking tattoos, Dina Manzo shopping for a new house (the budget is $3.5 million), Dina and daughter Lexie taking in the pig races at the New Jersey State Fair at the Meadowlands, and Dina‘s cat Grandma Wrinkles taking a bath. The big moment of the night was saved for the last three minutes: Danielle‘s best friend, a makeup artist, is tending to Danielle and says something to Teresa that sounds like "You should hear how stupid you sound on TV," and Teresa tells him to get away from her. Read more »
