Unfortunately, there is no new episode of The Office this week. You're going to have to get over it. Tonight, instead of a half hour's worth of hilarity, NBC will air what could be 90 minutes of hilarity in the form of the Vice Presidential debates. As you are most likely aware, tonight's debates will feature two of the most experienced, capable and worthy Vice Presidential candidates this country has ever known.* The Office, coming off an excellent season premiere that featured a culmination of four years of Jim and Pam moments, will return next week with a new episode. Disappointing, maybe, but I have every belief that tonight's debate will be as hilarious as any network sitcom could possibly be. NBC has provided a nice video sneak peek at next Thursday's episode, entitled “Business Ethics,” which you can find below.

The Office writers are a talented bunch. In a day and age where information flows freely, and plot secrets are nearly impossible to keep under wraps, props have to be given to an outfit that can successfully misdirect an audience that's millions strong. The Office ended last season with a marriage proposal, just not the one that viewers were expecting. As tonight's fifth season premiere opened, a number of story-lines were in play: Angela and Andy's engagement, Dwight and Angela's affair, Jim's inability to propose, Pam's impending three-month schooling in New York, Jan's pregnancy and the arrival of Michael's new crush – HR lady Holly (played by Oscar-nominee Amy Ryan). That's a lot of baggage to bring into a season premiere, but The Office managed to address almost every issue, all the while keeping a completely separate through-line for the entire one-hour episode.

Tonight the employees of Dunder-Mifflin return to work as The Office begins season 5 with a one-hour episode at 9pm on NBC. Last year left plenty of balls up in the air, from the exit of Toby to the fate of Jim and Pam to Angela's engagement to Andy and subsequent hook-up with Dwight.
Last week at the NBC Fall Premiere Party, BuddyTV spoke to several stars from the hit NBC series. Next week we'll have more video interviews with some of the great supporting players, but today we bring you our exclusive video interviews with female stars Jenna Fischer and Melora Hardin.

Can you believe we're already to the fifth season? The Office drops its season premiere in a special hour-long edition two days from now, in its permanent Thursdays at 9pm time slot. The NBC comedy was shut out of all the major Emmy categories on Sunday, but don't take that as a knock on The Office. The show is still as good as ever (people really like Tina Fey, that's all). We last left our Dunder-Mifflin employees as they said goodbye to HR man Toby, the bane of Michael Scott's existence. Pam is off to school in New York for a few months, Andy and Angela are engaged, and Michael has discovered that Jan is pregnant. As we approach the new season, I thought it might be worthwhile to hurl some predictions at y'all.

I love TV comedy. For me, there's nothing better. Good comedy is always, always hard to come by. It's forever hit and miss, the bad comedy consistently overwhelming the good comedy. The success rate for a comedy of any kind is abysmally low. More fail than succeed. This is nowhere more apparent than on television. But, even so, today's crop TV comedy is very, very good. The Best Comedy category of the Emmys is, as a result, quite hard to predict this year. The nominees are diverse, both in tone and quality – Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, 30 Rock, Entourage and Two and a Half Men. One of these shows will take home a cute little statue this Sunday. Let's take a gander at who the favorites might be.

This fall, NBC’s The Office welcomes one of the series’ original creators, Stephen Merchant. In fact, last week, Merchant took a spot behind the camera to shoot the show’s Halloween episode. The Office was originally created by the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning Merchant, alongside Ricky Gervais, the English comedian, writer, director and actor behind The Ricky Gervais Show.
"He was in the writers room with us rewriting over the last several days," The Office writer-producer-actor Paul Lieberstein said of Merchant in a conference call with reporters Monday. "It was really exciting having him there."

This month brings excitement to television fans across the nation because the fall season is about to begin, with numerous shows coming back to airwaves with new seasons. One of those shows is The Office, which heads back to NBC on September 25 at 9pm. Late last month, The Office’s Jenna Fischer, who stars as Pam Beesly, revealed some juicy insights on what’s to come for her character in the new season.
"[Pam is] away at art school right now. Pam was accepted to Pratt, and she's living in New York, and there is a whole new world opening up for her," Fischer reveals. "We've been shooting some really great scenes at USC with Rich Sommer and John Cabrera and having so much fun. It's like we're doing our own show called Art School."

Yes, it's September, and a lot of fans can barely contain their excitement with the barrage of shows that will either premiere or return this fall. One of such, of course, is The Office, which will be returning on September 25 at 8pm as part of NBC's one-two punch every Thursday along with 30 Rock. The critically acclaimed series is out on its fifth season, and, unlike other series that usually begin to dull down after a few ones, The Office looks like it's not going to lose steam any time soon.
September 25, however, is still a good three weeks away, so to satiate the cravings of The Office fans for Steve Carrel, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, and Jenna Fisher, its season 4 DVD came out September 2. The four-disc set includes every episode of the strike-interrupted fourth season, plus some deleted scenes.
