Over the last few years, Lauren Conrad has relied on her good friend Whitney Port to get her through the workday on MTV’s The Hills. The two started out as interns at Teen Vogue together. Whitney left first, for a job at People’s Revolution, public relations, branding and marketing firm. When Lauren started spending time around Whitney, People’s Revolution, and Kelly Cutrone, she was also offered a position with the firm and left Teen Vogue. However, it seems that Lauren loves her life in California and won’t be rushing off to the opposite coast anytime soon. That’s too bad for but good news for us, since Whitney Port will be making the big move, landing her own show, which will showcase her new job, new friends, new romances, and a brand new life.

We all have that friend - who thinks that they know better than we do, who thinks that they can fix everything, who gets overly involved in situations that have nothing to do with them. On The Hills, Heidi and Lauren have that friend too, in the form of Heidi's sister, Holly. She has recently moved from her home state of Colorado back out to California and is determined to get the former friends to kiss and make up, so that everything can go back to the way that they once were. Unfortunately, with Spencer in the picture, that's going to be a lot harder than anyone can imagine!

It's very possible that, when The Hills ends, Lauren Conrad will have lost all of her friends. Reality television brings out the ugly side of people, that's for sure. Already, she has had a very public feud with Heidi Montag but also has stopped talking to Jen Bunney, her friend from Laguna Beach. On the current season of The Hills, she has started to have problems with Audrina Patridge, her friend and former roommate. Audrina moved out recently, though that has yet to play out on the television show. Fans blamed Lauren "Lo" Bosworth, who lived with the two friends. She often caused drama and tension but it seems there are other factors at work here. Hills fans need not wonder any longer - Lauren posted a MySpace blog today explaining what the problem is ... or isn't.

I'm not even asking the question, "Is Heidi brainwashed?" to be funny anymore. I'm really asking the question because at this point, her behavior starts to become slightly unnerving. On last night's episode of The Hills, it was revealed that Heidi didn't even tell her parents that she and Spencer had moved back in together. Heidi's mom only found out after her sister, Holly, told her over the phone. Heidi's mom flew to Los Angeles, not only to see her daughter, but to try to talk some sense into her. As we found out, there's just no talking to Heidi, no matter how many friends or family she has to lose in order to keep Spencer in her life.

At some point, you have to just start thinking that maybe Lauren Conrad, star of MTV's The Hills, is just a sucker for punishment. I used to have friends who loved being the victim, so that people would always feel sorry for them and give them attention. Did Heidi and Spencer, or did they not, spread rumors through several news media outlets that Lauren had a sex tape? It's clear that the three are enemies, who will never be able to be civil to one another. Lauren's best friend and roommate Audrina knows that, yet insisted on socializing with them behind Lauren's back when she went on vacation. As if that wasn't enough, Stephanie decided to head out on a date with Doug without telling Lauren. When she returned home to Los Angeles, Lo and Brody dropped the bombs on her and she realized that good friends are just hard to come by.

Tonight's episode of The Hills is appropriate titled "You Always Miss A Best Friend", referring to the broken down relationship between one Lauren Conrad and one Heidi Montag. Cue Heidi's sister, Holly, who starts expressing how much she misses Lauren. Back in the good old days, Holly, Heidi, and Lauren were like The Three Musketeers, but instead of protecting their country, they went tanning, shopping, and clubbing. Same thing. Do yourself a favor, Holly. Don't even mention Lauren's name around Spencer because he doesn't care who you are, he'll tell you off and storm out of the room. He basically forbid Holly from seeing Lauren as long as she was staying with them, while Heidi sat quietly by. Spencer and Lauren are quickly becoming like the Montagues and the Capulets, except one is the arguably the greatest play ever written and the other is a reality show poorly acted by spoiled Hollywood 20-somethings.

I don't want every Hills article to become about Spencer. I really don't. I get this feeling that he lives off of haters the way vampires need human blood to thrive. Goodness knows I don't want to be part of that but after last night's episode, I realized that I can't help but continue to profess my hatred for him. Heidi's sister, Holly, decided to make the move to Los Angeles but didn't have a job or a place set up yet. I'll admit: that's her own dumb fault. If you're going to move from Colorado to California, make a plan. That's not my point, though. After a mere 2 days, Spencer had it up to here with her. When Heidi wouldn't listen to his complaints, he took matters into his own hands and let Holly think that her own sister was trying to kick her out onto the streets.

On the heels of last night's special airing of The Hills comes another brand new episode. Last night, everyone headed to Vegas for Frankie's birthday but Lauren and Audrina ignored each other while Doug and Brody ended up in jail. The morning after the big bash, Lauren, Stephanie, and Lo try to track down the boys and figure out what jail they were taken to. They consider calling places that offer bail but considering they're in Vegas, there are a lot to choose from. Just as it seems that there's no way they'll figure things out, Frankie walks into the hotel room with his boys right behind him. Turns out that the two got into a fight in the casino and ended up in a holding room right there on the premises. They laughed the whole thing off while a shocked Lauren summed it up best, calling them "idiots".
