The Golden Girls
-Comedy
The Golden Girls is an Emmy Award-winning television comedy that aired on CBS during the late 80s. It stars four older women sharing a home together on Miami Beach, and showcases the hilarity that ensues when their odd lives and personalities collide. The main characters are world-weary Dorothy Zbornak (Bea Arthur), naïve and kindhearted Rose Nylund (Betty White), aristocratic and romance-hungry Blanche Devereaux (Rue McClanahan), and Dorothy’s sharp-tongued mother Sophia Petrillo (Estelle Getty). Despite their age, the four of them are still up-to-date with pop culture, and the show’s episodes deal with a wide variety of topics such as menopause, gay marriage, and senility.
