The Dresden Files is a show loosely based on the mystery fantasy book series by Jim Butcher. Executive producer is the famed Nicholas Cage. The show is based on the main character Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden who is a real Wizard in present-day Chicago. The premise is that everything is real – magic, sorcery, vampires, demons, werewolves, faeries, and other dark forces. Most, if not all, of the public do not believe these forces are real and have no idea that these forces are constantly working against them. Thus, Harry gets no real public recognition for the great work he does in fighting against these forces. Fortunately, the Chicago PD Special Investigations Unit hired Mr. Dresden to solve cases involving the dark forces.
