Fans of The Biggest Loser know that the second week is always toughest on the contestants. They seem to drop huge numbers in the first week and hardly anything in the second. The body is still trying to adjust to the amount of exercise and healthy food it’s getting. Coleen and Jerry made a bet, in a challenge, that they would lose 14 pounds. If they were successful, they’d win $10,000 but if they weren’t, they’d automatically fall below the yellow line. Together, the dropped 11 and, had they not made the bet, they would’ve ended in 3rd place this week. Yet, it was Tom and LT, the grey team, that ended up getting sent home after a shocking weigh in. Today, LT (Little Tom) spoke to BuddyTV about his weight gain, his elimination, and his relationship with his dad.

On tonight’s episode of The Biggest Loser, the contestants learned about the dreaded second week curse. The second week is almost always where players pull their lowest numbers. The players met up with host Alison Sweeney, who oversaw a bidding war for the contestants to predict how much weight they would lose this week. Jillian was shocked when she found out that Coleen and Jerry placed a bet and would have to lose 14 pounds. If they don’t, they’ll automatically fall below the yellow line but if they win, they’ll get $10,000.

This season, on The Biggest Loser, contestants are family members competing in pairs. Biggest Loser trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels hand-picked their teams and personally delivered the news to each pair. Bob took on the parents and children, while Jillian decided to work with husbands and wives. At the first weigh in, two of Jilliam’s teams, Heba and Ed and Stacey and Adam, fell below the yellow line and were up for elimination. The teams decided to send Stacey and Adam home, perhaps feeling that Heba and Ed had a better work ethic. Now that everyone has been weighed in, worked out, and started losing weight, which teams will be the last ones standing at the very end?

Last night, The Biggest Loser kicked off its 6th season with contestants competing in pairs. Bob Harper led the teams of husbands and wives while Jillian took on parents and their children. Among the husbands and wives were Stacey and Adam, of Washington D.C. The two made it onto the show but unfortunately, their time was cut short when they were the first team eliminated. Stacey may have lost 9 pounds at the weigh in, but it wasn't enough compared to the double digits the rest of the women pulled. Up against Heba and Ed, the orange team, the contestants decided that the green team would be the first to go and today, they spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview!

Tonight, The Biggest Loser returns for its 6th season with a families edition. Trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels will do things a bit differently this time around. They not only handpicked their teams but they flew out to each team's state to let them know that they made the final cut. Bob will be working with husbands and wives, while Jillian leads parents and children to healthier lives. The trainers travel all across the United States, stopping everywhere from South Carolina to Texas, Louisiana to Massachusetts, Washington D.C. to Ohio, to welcome the people that they'll be working with for the next few months.

Perhaps one of the greatest stories to ever come out of The Biggest Loser is the love story between Suzy Preston and Matt Hoover. The interesting thing about them is that during season 2, the two contestants showed no signs of falling in love. Matt was on the red team, consisting of all men, trained by Bob Harper. Suzy represented the all female blue team, trained by Jillian Michaels. The two made it all the way to the final 3. Suzy took third place, having lost 95 pounds while Matt won the whole thing, dropping over 46% of his total body weight. With a new outlook on life, more confidence, and an experience that bonded them, the two quickly got together once the show was over. The couple married and had a child and last week, welcomed baby #2 into the Hoover family!

The Biggest Loser returns for its 6th season this Tuesday night with a 2 hour season premiere beginning at 8pm ET on NBC. In the past, the show has divided up teams in several ways, pitting men against women to pairing contestants up to compete together. Last season, The Biggest Loser unveiled its couples edition with teams competing as best friends, husband and wife, and even total strangers. Ali Vincent became the first female winner, thanks to trainer Jillian Michaels, after she showed up to the finale over 110 pounds thinner than when she began with the show. This season, The Biggest Loser will pair up contestants again for a families edition and for its sixth time around, the show is changing things up a bit.

These days, it's not just enough to have a hit television show. It'll want to tout the show's biggest stars on every radio morning show, magazine, and website that you can get them featured on. If a show can get its stars at conventions, even better. A show needs to release DVDs with bonus material like deleted scenes, outtakes, and behind the scenes interviews. They have the pressure of releasing webisodes, podcasts, mobile and video games, books, and any other form of media to promote their show. The Biggest Loser is no exception to this. Now in its 6th season, the show has come up with new ways to reach out to their fans and have them continue on a path to a healthier and happier life.
