If last night’s season premiere of The Bachelorette taught us one thing, it’s this: Men are just as crazy as women. Give me a guy who’s desperate to find love and I’ll show you his crazy side. I thought the women were nuts on season 12 of The Bachelor when they chewed through cans, sing original songs, and hand over their underwear in order to grab Matt Grant’s attention. On tonight’s episode of The Bachelorette, host Chris Harrison dropped a bomb on the guys when he let them know that the guys would have to live in the guest house, not the mansion. However, each week, three guys would get to live in the mansion with DeAnna. Ryan Hoag was definitely a unique suitor for DeAnna Pappas, on this season of The Bachelorette. Besides being the only professional football player to join the cast, he was also the only virgin. Ryan is a person who stands strong in his beliefs and doesn’t apologize for it. He had hopes that DeAnna would see and appreciate that about him but, unfortunately, the two never had the time to really get to know each other. This, of course, made the other guys jealous, who are just dying to see Jeremy go home. Richard finds out that he’ll be heading out on a one on one date with DeAnna. I can’t say that Jeremy is the best looking guy this season on The Bachelorette. That award goes to Graham, the pro basketball player. I can’t say that Jeremy has the sweetest personality. That would go to Jason, the sensitive, single dad. Yet, there’s something about Jeremy that I just really like. It could be the way that he opened up to DeAnna in the second episode, on the group date at the baseball field. It could be the way he just seems taken with her every time she walks in the room. It could be the way that he comes across as totally sincere, instead of as a guy mugging for the cameras. I don’t get the hatred but I’ll stand up for the guy: I’m a fan of Jeremy. Read more »

With 12 seasons of The Bachelor and four seasons of The Bachelorette behind us, we only count with one hand the number of successful relationships these reality dating games has spawned.  Surely, the latest and 12th season of The Bachelor gave us Shayne Lamas and Matt Grant, who admit that they are still together months after the show has ended.  In fact, they’ve been rumored to be getting married as soon as next week rolls about.Before the two lovebirds, though, there was Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, who emerged with a successful relationship from the first season of The Bachelorette.  The two, whose December 2003 marriage was televised, have recently become proud parents of their first baby, Maxwell Alston.  Now that they are a family, it seems that controversy is still at their heels. Read more »

Richard Mathy seemed to be a frontrunner on season 4 of The Bachelorette. A high school teacher from New York, he captured DeAnna’s interest on the first night and received a first impression rose. Soon after, though, DeAnna’s focus shifted onto other men, like Jeremy, Jason, and Graham. Richard was left by the wayside but was given one last chance to form a connection with the bachelorette. On tonight’s episode of The Bachelorette, it was a battle for a one on one date with DeAnna. It wouldn’t be easy on the guys, though. They had to write and perform their own song, which made many of them nervous. Graham summed it up best, saying that he’d “rather eat glass”. Okay, I don’t get it. Twilley has stayed on The Bachelorette over some decent catches for weeks now. The minute he hid in her bushes after her date with Graham, he should’ve been gone yet, something keeps him there. Nothing made me happier than to see Robert go on last night’s episode. He’s a creep and a whiner. He probably shouldn’t have even been there in the first place. I was a little sad when Fred got the boot. Maybe it’s because it was so sudden. Or maybe it’s because he’s such a nice guy. Or maybe it’s because he sounds like Dan Akroyd from Tommy Boy. Leave it to the last episode of The Bachelorette that Twilley appeared on for me to finally warm up to him. On last night’s episode, the first hour was dedicated to an interview with DeAnna, where she addressed her relationships with the remaining men and her reasoning behind many of the dismissals. We also got to know the guys a little bit better and believe it or not, Twilley is a pretty normal guy. He started a real estate software company that is very successful and leads a pretty regular life, outside of the show. When he was sent home last night, he handled himself so well and told DeAnna that he only wished her the best. On tonight‘s episode of The Bachelorette, DeAnna earns her frequent flyer miles when she travels around the country, visiting the hometowns of the final four men.  She kicks things off in Jesse‘s hometown of Breckenridge, Colorado.  On their last one on one date, Jesse was out of his element but in Ohio, he showed her his world of snowboarding.  Afterwards, he took her to his house for a tour and to meet his parents.  When dinner is over, Jesse talks to his dad alone, where he confesses how hard it is for him to deal with DeAnna dating three other guys.  He is the only one who has not kissed DeAnna.  On a horse drawn carriage ride, Jesse finally plants one on her and vows to step up his game so that he is the last one standing. Read more »

I really felt bipolar last night when I watched the hometown date episode of The Bachelorette. My emotions changed as DeAnna visited each state. I wonder if it‘s possible to be in love with two people. I‘m pretty sure I‘ve heard a Bachelor or two say that before. Good, ‘cause I‘m pretty sure I‘ve got the hots for both Jason and Jeremy. DeAnna is going to have to crush one of them in the next week or two and I‘ve already started stocking up on Kleenex. From the very beginning on ABC‘s The Bachelorette this season, there was no denying that DeAnna Pappas was immediately attracted to basketball player Graham Bunn.  While every other guy had to go to great lengths just to get her to notice him, Graham didn‘t have to work hard at all.  DeAnna pursued him through much of the season and, at times, they two behaved like they were already in a relationship.  Graham had one problem, though.  He couldn‘t seem to express himself and put his heart on the line the way the other guys could.  DeAnna couldn‘t handle it and, worried that she would get her heart broken again, sent him home in this week‘s shocking rose ceremony.  Before he left, Graham gave her a letter with all the things he wanted to say.  The contents of the letter remain a mystery but the look on DeAnna‘s face screamed to America, "I think I just made a big mistake."  Today, Graham talked to reporters in a press conference call and dished on DeAnna, their connection, and who he thinks is going to win. Read more »

Let’s just break it down. Let’s put it out there. Let’s get real. On Monday night’s episode of The Bachelorette, DeAnna wasn’t upset at the picnic because nobody was paying attention to her. DeAnna was upset at the picnic because Graham wasn’t paying attention to her. She could have cared less if Fred or Robert or Twilley or Brian were talking to her at all. If you were surprised when DeAnna Pappas eliminated Jeremy Anderson on last night’s episode of The Bachelorette, you weren’t the only one. When she called Jason’s name instead of his at the rose ceremony, Jeremy couldn’t even bear to look at her. He left feeling confused, hurt, and led on by DeAnna. This season of The Bachelorette has certainly been unpredictable to say the least. The viewers felt for sure that DeAnna Pappas would take Jeremy Anderson and Graham Bunn all the way to the finale but she eliminated them back to back in the last two episodes. WHY???  Why?  Why?  Why?  I lined up several things on my coffee table to throw at the screen, should DeAnna have chosen Jesse at final rose ceremony tonight.  I had my remote, a cup, a candle, and a magazine.  Yet, when she told The Bachelorette‘s Jason to get up off his knee and interrupted his proposal, I literally curled up into a ball on my couch and cried.  I didn‘t stop crying for a good 30 minutes.  You don‘t need to tell me - I got a little too invested this season.  I‘m aware.  However, I know I‘m not the only one that couldn‘t believe that DeAnna didn‘t choose Jason in the end.  She said that she came to find one thing, yet she left with something totally different.  Are people allowed to change their mind?  Sure.  Did she do to people what was done to her during her time on The Bachelor?  Perhaps. Read more »

It’s safe to say that Jason Mesnick walked away from this season’s The Bachelorette broken hearted. Well, you can’t blame a girl for trying! When DeAnna Pappas accept Jesse Csincsak’s proposal earlier this month on the season finale of ABC’s The Bachelorette, viewers were left scratching their heads. Jen Schefft may have won season 3 of The Bachelor but her relationship with Andrew Firestone quickly fizzled out. She did not fare much better as The Bachelorette, where she famously rejected the proposal of Jerry Ferris, the man that was supposed to win the competition, on live television. It seems that a few years later, things have turned around for this former Bachelorette. People magazine reported last week that Schefft is now engaged to her boyfriend, Joe Waterman, who is 35-years-old. Schefft, 32, told the magazine that she is “so excited” to be engaged and can’t wait to get married. The pair have not set a date yet but do plan to marry in 2009. Let’s face it. It’s just not possible for a couple from The Bachelor or The Bachelorette to work. When DeAnna Pappas chose Jesse Csincsak at the end of this past season of The Bachelorette, fans scratched their head in confusion. The Bachelorette’s DeAnna Pappas and Jesse Csincsak were just about 6 months away from their wedding when she decided to abruptly end things. Fans of the show were stunned to learn that the two had called off their engagement but none was more surprised than Jesse himself, who never saw the breakup coming. “He was stunned, I’ve talked to Jesse several times today and he did not see it coming,” Chris Harrison, host of The Bachelorette, said in an interview after the breakup went public. Let me just go on record as saying that I was one of those people who hated the fact that DeAnna Pappas chose Jesse Csincask on the season finale of The Bachelorette. For someone who seemed to be looking to settle down, get married, and have kids, it was amazing to me that she chose the person who seemed to be the least likely candidate to give her those things right away. Better choices, like Jeremy Anderson and Jason Mesnick, were falling all over themselves to get close to her but she went with the guy that she seemed to have the least amount of chemistry with. Two weeks ago, Jesse Csinsak’s happily ever after came to a screeching halt when he was abruptly dumped by fiancé DeAnna Pappas. The two met while filming ABC’s The Bachelorette and were in the midst of planning a May 2009 wedding. Without warning, at an airport counter, DeAnna ended the relationship, telling Jesse that she loved him, but wasn’t in love with him. Host Chris Harrison said that DeAnna thought the show would make her famous and let her ego get the best of her. Jesse just seemed devastated, leaving a video message on the couple’s website for fans, explaining the breakdown of their relationship. As host of both reality series The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, Chris Harrison knows a thing or two of what goes on behind the camera.  With ABC back with its search for a female star to follow DeAnna Pappas on a new season, it‘s the best time to discuss things.  Harrison, who is happily married, was recently interviewed about the reality series, true love on TV, and the controversy between DeAnna and her former fiancé, Jesse Csincsak.  On looking for the next Bachelorette, Chris Harrison revealed that they‘re really not out to find someone who falls into a certain type.  “It‘s hard to answer that because really, there‘s no set picture.  We‘ve had rich, we‘ve had poor, we‘ve had famous athletes, actors, we‘ve had it all,” he said.  “It‘s just somebody who‘s willing to take this leap of faith, who‘s obviously ready to commit and ready for a relationship.”  Read more »

Trista and Ryan Sutter, the only legitimate couple to ever come out of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, announced this week that they are expecting their second child.  The couple, who married in 2003, have a son, Max, who is 16 months old.  “The news is true. We are expecting a baby girl in April and we are ecstatic!” Trista told Access Hollywood.  The couple made the rounds, speaking to several different media outlets, to share the good  news.  “It was such a fun surprise," she told In Touch Weekly. "We went to our last ultrasound appointment with Ryan’s parents, my parents, and Max and we were all in the room together when the doctor said, ‘It’s a girl!’ Everyone got so teary-eyed and emotional."  Trista also said that she is a girly girl, who can‘t wait to dress up her baby girl is cute little outfits. Read more »
