Older people generally don't perform so well on The Amazing Race. There's nothing age-ist about it; The Amazing Race is physically grueling. Many of the challenges feature obstacles that very much favor the young and fit. The thing is, if The Amazing Race were to remove all the physical challenges, and it was more of a mental game, then the playing field would immediately be leveled. As it stands now, the arduous travel regimen, the sheer amount of ground that must be covered, and the levels of exhaustion that must be kept at bay keep the older teams from really competing. I'd love to say that Anita and Arthur, the Oregonian blueberry farming hippies, have a chance at winning a million dollars this upcoming season, but that'd be a lie. They have an incredibly long shot at winning. If you are in Vegas, do not bet on the Oregonian hippies. They may be lovable (in my experience, blueberry farmers usually are), but they won't be millionaires any time soon.

Traveling with your siblings can either be wonderful or treacherous. It really depends on your relationship, and how quickly you can recover from minor squabbles. The Amazing Race, surprisingly, has yet to see a team of siblings win the grand prize of one million dollars. Nick and Starr could very easily be the ones who change this. Nick is an actor, Starr is a cheerleader, but judging by their interview video below, they are smarter than you might assume after simply reading their bios. The Amazing Race is only a couple of weeks away, and in our continued dissection of every single Amazing Race 13 team, I present to you Nick and Starr.

I love my mother. I do. But, there is no way I would want to be her partner on The Amazing Race. There would be an incredible amount of bickering and yelling. Family members generally love each other, but arguing is an inevitability, especially when it comes to something as stressful as The Amazing Race. Toni and Dallas are the multi-generational team on The Amazing Race 13. Toni raised Dallas as a single mother, and the two share a close bond. As we continue our in-depth looks at each and every team on The Amazing Race 13, I present to you Toni and Dallas. Enjoy.

Mark and Bill are the “nerds” on The Amazing Race 13. The Amazing Race hasn't featured a bevy of “nerds” or “geeks” over the years. Maybe they don't like to travel very much. Maybe I'm overly generalizing a certain subset of society. Mark and Bill will likely be one of the teams that the general public rallies behind once The Amazing Race begins at the end of the month. They are a couple of older guys, smart as hell, but perhaps not the most impressive physical specimens the race has ever seen. In keeping with our in-depth Amazing Race team reports, I give you Mark and Bill:

Long-distance relationships are rarely a good idea. You'd have to be a very cynical person to say that they can never work, but the success rate is depressingly low. Unless one member of the couple has immediate and solid plans to move to the other's city in the somewhat near future, things generally don't work out. One team on The Amazing Race 13, Aja and Ty, are a long-distance couple who are ostensibly using the race as a means to reconnect and strengthen their relationship. I hope it works. As the next in our series of in-depth looks at every single team on The Amazing Race 13, I present to you Aja and Ty.

The Amazing Race 13 is approaching swiftly, and we've begun looking at each team in detail. No matter how deep we delve into each specific team, and no matter how many interviews we find with them, it's impossible to predict how teams will respond when they find themselves on The Amazing Race. It's stressful and frantic. Today, we're going to take a gander at Andrew and Dan, the fraternity brothers from Arizona State University (aka “The STD Capitol of the World”). They are apparently nicknamed “Team Superbad,” probably because of their skinny guy/fat guy dynamic.

It still hasn't happened, despite CBS's best efforts. There has yet to be an all-female team to win The Amazing Race. It's sad, mostly unlucky, but it remains the truth. Dustin and Kandice came close, but were ultimately vanquished. Will The Amazing Race 13 be the season that it finally happens? It has to happen sometime, right? There are only two all-female teams this season, and today we're going to take a look at Marisa and Brooke, the two southern belles competing on The Amazing Race 13.

The Amazing Race 13 debuts on Sunday, September 28 at 8pm. I cannot wait. The Amazing Race is one of the top two or three reality series of all time, an Emmy favorite, and has always fared just OK in the ratings. It's a show for travelers in obvious ways, but it's also a show about relationships. There's no better place to put a relationship to the test than on the road. The couples either grow closer or begin to disintegrate. The evolution of the relationship is accelerated, and right there on TV. Starting today, we're going to take a look at each team on The Amazing Race 13.
