Last month, the SCI-FI Channel announced that it would be renewing the Stargate SG-1‘s spin-off Stargate: Atlantis, with the new season comprising of 20 episodes.  Executive Vice-President of Original Programming for the cable network, said they are “proud” to bring back the show for another year, as it “truly came out from under the shadow of its sister series this year and proved that it‘s a hit in its own right.”
