Stargate Atlantis is the follow-up to Stargate SG-1 and is presently airing on the Sci-Fi Network. Similar in theme to Star Trek, Stargate Atlantis is based on the belief of the existence of Stargates that allow time and space travel through wormholes. Stargate Atlantis picks up where Stargate SG-1 left off in its last episode where SG-1 discovers an outpost created by the race known as the Ancients in Antarctica. They discover the greatest city created by the race, Atlantis. Located in the Pegasus Galaxy, the team faces possibly a one-way trip never returning the earth and dealing with new cultures and a fierce new enemy in the Wraith.
