Star Trek is an Emmy-nominated science fiction television series that originally aired on NBC. Created and executive produced by the late Gene Roddenberry, it revolves around the exploits of legendary Starfleet captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and his crew aboard the starship Enterprise, as they explored space, the final frontier. Their mission was stated at the beginning of every episode: to explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and civilizations, and to boldly go where no man has gone before. Constantly by Kirk’s side were his second-in-command, the half-Vulcan Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and his chief medical officer Leonard “Bones” McCoy (DeForest Kelley).
