On the season 12 opener of South Park, Eric Cartman is afflicted with HIV after a routine tonsillectomy went horribly wrong.  The doctors advise the boys, consisting of Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Butters, to treat Cartman normally, although when an AIDS benefit was held for Cartman, hardly anyone attends.  Cartman berates Kyle, Stan and Kenny for not coming to his benefit and decides to teach Kyle a lesson by injecting Kyle with some of his HIV infected blood.  Following their squabble, Cartman and Kyle take matters into their own hands hoping to find a possible cure with the help of Magic Johnson, who‘s been living with HIV for about “50 years.”  At the end of the episode, they come up with a theory that sleeping with money every night might just be the cure.  They distill Magic‘s cash down into a concentrated form, inject it into their bodies and the boys are cured. Expect another round of laughs and antics in tonight‘s episode called "Britney‘s New Look." Read on for a preview. Read more »

If you haven‘t had enough of the ‘cheesing‘ sequences on the hugely popular South Park episode ‘Major Boobage,‘ then all you have to do is go to southparkstudios.com and take an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of how the special episode was made, thanks to its creators and Comedy Central.‘Major Boobage,‘ an episode on South Park‘s 12th season, took eight weeks to complete, eight times longer than a normal episode.  They used traditional animation, in order to make it resemble the film Heavy Metal whenever someone would go into ‘cheese‘ state.  For instance, Kenny‘s car during his sequences is an actual 3D model. Read more »
Isaac Hayes is dead.  The songwriter and musical pioneer was 65.  He was found collapsed next to a treadmill by his wife, and later declared dead at a hospital near his home in Tennessee.  The cause of death is still unknown.  Hayes was a prolific songwriter and performer, and began his career as a member of the 1960‘s group Sam and Dave, who were known for their hit “Soul Man.”  In the 1970‘s, Hayes was at the forefront of the Disco movement.  Hayes‘ wrote and recorded the “Theme from Shaft” in 1971, and was rewarded with two Grammys and one Oscar (for Best Original Song).  Hayes most recently found acclaim as voice actor on South Park, where he voiced the character of Chef for much of the series.  Hayes was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.  Read more »
South Park is one of the funniest, crudest, most incisive and, really, best animated shows out there. There aren‘t any issues that South Park hasn‘t poked fun at, such as Mormonism, Scientology, AIDS, Casa Bonita, aliens and Richard Dawkins.BuddyTV is pleased to announce that we have a very special South Park Giveaway planned for this week. Fans of South Park, especially those of Eric Cartman, that sexist, racist, anti-Semitic but weirdly oh-so-lovable “fat kid” of the group, are in for a real treat as South Park: The Cult of Cartman comes out in DVD on Tuesday, October 7, a day before the show runs new episodes on Wednesday at 10pm on Comedy Central.South Park: The Cult of Cartman is more than just double-disc set DVD, it is packaged like a cult handbook, including 12 precious “life lessons” from the man himself, Eric Theodore Cartman.  It includes 12 uncensored episodes (where the teachings are embedded), an exclusive membership card to the Eric Theodore Cartman Society, and a sticker. Read more »
When I picture Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of South Park, it’s of them sitting around a table filled with stacks of money. One of them floats a random idea to repackage a handful of old episodes into a brand new DVD set and the other replies, to quote Mr. Burns. “We‘ll all be rich. Rich as Nazis!”The latest South Park DVD set, The Cult of Cartman, is nothing more than an anthology of 12 episodes that focus on Eric Cartman at his best (which is also his worst). Why should you pay $25.99 for these episodes? That’s a good question. Read more »
Fans of the hilarious South Park gang are happy to know that their favorite show is returning with its midseason premiere tonight at 10pm on Comedy Central.  Titled “The China Problem,” the episode will follow Cartman as he struggles to raise awareness about the threat that the Chinese post against the United States.  Moreover, he must confront them alone while the Americans are haunted by the memory of recent tragic events.Cartman realized that the Chinese are days away from invading America after he sees the intimidating national ceremonies at the recent Olympic games.  Butters comes to Cartman’s aid as he sets out to defend his nation. Read more »
On the last episode of South Park, Cartman and Butters raided a Chinese restaurant in an attempt to prevent the Chinese take-over of America.  In the first sequence alone, Cartman dreamed of scenes from the Beijing Games, and he alarmingly told his mom that “they‘re gonna take over the world” and that “they‘re gonna bring down America.”  The others – Stan, Kenny, Kyle, Jimmy, and Clyde – initiated a campaign to seek justice for their sexually assaulted friend, Indiana Jones. In this 12th season debut entitled “The China Problem,” Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones was seen getting raped by director Steven Spielberg, who is Jewish, and fellow filmmaker George Lucas.  The episode aired on October 9, the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, drawing a ruckus from some groups. Read more »

On the last episode of South Park, we got a little dose of girl power when Wendy, after a host of hullabaloos (Cartman taking a crap at his teacher‘s desk to intentionally get detention, having his mom come over Wendy‘s house to make her promise not to fight him, etc) finally decided to fight the “fat, little lump.”  The episode called “Breast Cancer Show Ever” brought the issue to the fore the only way South Park could: Cartman‘s insensitivity toward the “tit*ies cancer” awareness campaign. On tonight‘s episode of South Park called “Pandemic,” the boys decide to be entrepreneurs and take advantage of the misfortune of others.  They are short of capital, however, so Cartman and the rest had to seek the help of Craig, who had $100 to spare thanks to his grandmother‘s birthday gift to him.  Craig is a little apprehensive of the offer, though, because of Cartman‘s less-than-peachy traits and their rather confused relationship.  Their little get-rich-quick scheme (“How would you like to turn that $100 to $1000?) is the central theme to this episode. Read more »
That was a cliffhanger if there ever was one on the last episode of South Park.  It started with an innocent enough venture by the boys to get a share of the Peruvian flute band pie that had taken over their mall (plus the other major cities in the world, as will be revealed later).  They sought the help of Craig for capital, dressed up, and bought instruments, and true enough, they were making sale after sale just because they looked “cultural.”  As absurd as it was, Homeland Security found the disturbance too annoying so they racked all the Peruvian flute bands on some Florida jail, including the South Park boys, and planned on attacking the country itself – a parody perhaps of US foreign policy. Little did they know that hauling all the bands would inexplicably lead to an even bigger catastrophe – a bunch of guinea pigs wreaking havoc on their cities.  Just what exactly links the Peruvian flute bands and the rodents?  That’s what part two of this two-part South Park episode should shed light on.  It was also hinted that Craig will have a big role on the entire mystery. Read more »
On the last episode of South Park, we got the “startling” conclusion to the two-part Pandemic saga.  The South Park boys, plus Craig, were flown to the Andes to supposedly infiltrate the origin of the Peruvian flute bands that had plagued their cities.  Yet since the head of Homeland security was too busy being an alien, the pilots didn‘t know what to do next after they were dropped off.  Back in Colorado, everything was being ravaged by guinea pigs, guinea bats, guinea bears, etc.  In the end, it was Craig who turned out to save the day.Tonight on South Park, the long-running Comedy Central animated series takes part in the election fever a day after the nationwide vote in an episode called “About Last Night…” in reference to yesterday‘s polls. Read more »
The last episode of South Park tackled the recent elections in a way that only South Park could.  If we were to believe “About Last Night…,” Obama, McCain, Palin, and the gang (plus Ike) belong to some Ocean‘s 11 type of gang that orchestrated a 10-year plan that culminated in the 2008 presidential elections.  All the election hullabaloo was just to do a heist and steal a $210-million diamond at the Smithsonian Institute.  While South Park and virtually the rest of the nation were distracted after the announcement of the results (the Obama supporters were partying, the McCain supporters were fighting for room in an “ark” or else just committing suicide), the gang went through their plan and pushed through with the burglary.  When all was done, most flew out of the country, while Obama and Michelle at the last minute opted to stay and “give this president thing” a try.According to South Park co-creator Trey Parker, “About Last Night…” was a tricky episode.  For one, it was premised on an Obama win, which, on all accounts had been pretty reliable but there was still no way of making sure.  The elections happened Tuesday, and the episode aired Wednesday night.  He said they considered doing an alternate episode, one where the GOP candidate won, but went against it because it was “too daunting” a task.  Also, Parker had no doubt Obama would win, yet he wasn‘t partying when Obama did.  They were able to replicate the stage, plus Obama‘s now famous acceptance speech and finished up the morning of Wednesday. Read more »
