So You Think You Can Dance fans were not surprised when Courtney Galiano finished 4th in last night's finale. The young dancer gave everything she had in this competition, dancing with heart and passion. Her personality came through in all of her videos and interviews, forming her a very strong fan base this season. All the heart in the world, though, couldn't push her past Josh, Katee, and Twitch but she left the show with no regrets and feeling very proud of herself. Next, it seemed that one of the male dancers would be headed home and many felt it would be Twitch. Josh and Katee seemed the frontrunners to be the final two standing but when Cat told Katee that she had been eliminated and would finish the competition in 3rd place, the shock in the room was evident. How did Katee end up missing out on placing Top 2? The answer may be more simple than you think!

The long journey came to a close tonight on So You Think You Can Dance. The final four dancers, Joshua Allen, Twitch Boss, Courtney Galiano and Katee Shean came back tonight to find out which of them has won the title of America's Favorite Dancer plus a pot of $250,000.
To keep them company and to entertain us all at home for the two-hour broadcast, the rest of the top 20 dancers came back, many of them to reprise some of the judges' favorite routines. (Unfortunately, Jessica King was not in attendance tonight, likely due to her injury.) Along with these encore performances, there were many guest performers as well. This was by far the most entertaining episode of the entire season. I know rationally that it lasted two hours, but I didn't even notice the time going by. It was that entertaining. Read on to see what happened.

The night that we have been waiting for all summer long is finally upon us. To quote Mary Murphy, "Whooooooo!!!!!"
I don't know about you, but I have a feeling that tonight's two-hour show is going to be great. Last night may have been a bit of a let down, but tonight, they are bringing back the eliminated dancers to perform all of our favorite routines from the season. That's what I'm excited for. Oh yeah, and also, we'll find out who wins!
Stay with me tonight as I sit here, watching and writing my thoughts. Post your own too!

Oh, Mary Murphy. Can there be a more divisive figure in the world of televised dance? This shrieking banshee of a judge on So You Think You Can Dance, herself an accomplished dancer and choreographer, can either be taken as completely insane or brilliant. Or both. Whatever the case may be, she and her hot tamale train have become staples on this show. It just wouldn't feel the same not to hear her screaming after an amazing performance.
After the taping of last night's final performance show, Mary Murphy sat down with BuddyTV's John Kubicek, Dave Lake from MSN TV and Daniel Malen of TheTVAddict.com to discuss this new crop of finalists. Also, in the interview, Mary gives further clues about which So You Think You Can Dance judge or judges will possibly be hitting the dance floor on tonight's season finale, which Cat Deeley alluded to in her interview yesterday.

I know, as well as anyone, that there's an excellent chance that Josh and Katee will be the last two standing on tonight's season 4 finale of So You Think You Can Dance. It will pretty impressive if they are since a couple that started out the season together has never made it all the way to the finale together. It's also impressive since the pair had a lot to overcome when they headed into the Top 20. Katee needed to redeem herself after telling the judges, in Vegas, that she would not try out if she didn't make it. The judges, especially Mia Michaels, saw her as a person who would easily throw in the towel if she didn't get her way. Josh has been deemed the "untrained dancer" this season (even though that's not necessarily true) and had to pick up styles of dance he was very unfamiliar with. I know that that they've both performed brilliantly this season. I'm just rooting for the underdogs - and I don't think I'm alone here!

I don't know if it's because I've come to have such high expectations from the four remaining dancers on this season's So You Think You Can Dance, but I have to say that I was just the tiniest bit underwhelmed with tonight's final performance show. Is it me, or have the final performances from previous seasons of So You Think You Can Dance been way more impressive? Maybe I'm just remembering wrong.
But really, it's all good. I still love all four remaining dancers. They still work incredibly hard. They all had an extremely challenging night tonight, each one dancing a routine with each of the others, plus a solo, plus a final group performance. It's no wonder that they looked exhausted tonight. Read on to see how I ranked all the performances.

I'm so incredibly excited for tonight's Final Four performance show. We've got four incredibly talented dancers who, I am positive, will bring out the big guns tonight and show us their most impressive routines yet.
Who are you pulling for? The nearly flawless Katee who has had a virtually perfect season thus far? Or her long time friend Twitch, possibly the least formally trained dancer of the season, but one who has showed enormous potential? Or how about Josh, he of the cute butt and amazing technical ability? Personally, I'm all for Courtney, the most improved dancer of the top 20.
I'll be here for the next two hours with my live thoughts. Feel free to keep me company by posting your thoughts too!

Cat Deeley has been the public face of So You Think You Can Dance almost since the beginning. She is by far one of the most genuine hosts on TV today. Her compassion and caring for each of the dancers is apparent on camera, and in this interview, she explains that her camaraderie with the dancers continues offstage as well.
In anticipation of this week's season finale, Cat Deeley sat down with members of the press this week to discuss what it's like to host So You Think You Can Dance. In attendance in the roundtable discussion were BuddyTV's own John Kubicek, Dave Lake from MSN TV and Daniel Malen of TheTVAddict.com.
