Saul (Ron Rifkin) may be the most low-key and reserved member of the Walker family on Brothers & Sisters, but it's been fascinating to watch his evolution since the pilot episode. Season 2 of the series found the character grappling with the homosexuality he had been trying to deny for years, which he eventually came to terms with. In a recent episode, Saul decided to quit his job at Ojai Foods after Holly and Tommy made too many changes to the business. Saul planned to use the opportunity to retire, allowing him to spend his golden years looking for love.
According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, Saul will soon find love, at least for about three episodes. Former Smallville cast member John Glover is set to appear on Brothers & Sisters, playing a fellow gay man who Saul quickly falls for.

Love was in the air during last week's episode of Smallville, but not every fan of the series was happy with the numerous romantic declarations found in "Committed." Lois admitted she loves Clark, Chloe and Jimmy reaffirmed their bond with one another, and Tess and Oliver hooked up once again. Every Smallville fan seems to have an opinion on these three couples, which has led to some interesting debates among BuddyTV users. Whether you like the romantic pairings or not, they're likely to continue for much of season 8.
This week's episode of Smallville will put the relationships on the back burner to focus on the increasingly dangerous Davis Bloom. To get fans ready for the new installment, we have some photos and a clip from "Prey."

Love hurts, and on last night's episode of Smallville, we saw that adage put into effect. Whether it's with lies, wooden staffs, or electricity, love is capable of inflicting serious emotional and physical pain. Smallville took a detour from science fiction last night to focus on the three primary couples of this season, exploring their pasts, the present and their potential futures.
The difficult part on Smallville is separating what the characters say from what they mean. Do the couples truly love one another? Are there lies being told to each other, or even to themselves? Based on last night's episode, let us break down the three couples and predict their fates.

Tonight’s episode of Smallville is about uncovering secret feelings of love. Is Chloe still in love with Clark? Are Lois and Clark soul mates? Why are these women so preoccupied with these losers when Davis Bloom and Oliver Queen are hanging around?
At Jimmy and Chloe’s engagement party, Lois gets drunk so she can cope with the fact that her little cousin is making a huge mistake. The alcohol does its job and drunk Lois stands on a stool and calls out the fact that Jimmy isn’t Chloe’s soul mate. I love drunk Lois, and it’s not just because Erica Durance’s cleavage feels like it’s attacking me. Clark saves the day with a nice speech. After the party, Jimmy and Chloe get ready for some post-engagement party sex when a mystery man shoots them with tranquilizer darts.

For some reason, Smallville fans by and large hate Lois Lane. Maybe it's because she posed a threat to the Clark-Lana relationship, maybe it's because her character is typically annoying, but whatever the reason, she is frequently the source of animosity. This season, however, I've found myself in an odd predicament: I like Lois Lane.
The character is a strong woman, and last night's episode proved it. Not only can she resist the urge to jump at the chance to live with Clark, but she survived being in a car flipped over and thrown by an alien queen without a scratch on her.

If you're hoping to see more of Oliver or Davis on tonight's Smallville, think again, because, much like on Project Runway, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out. I'm beginning to think the writers just flip coins for each of the series regulars, and whoever's lands on heads gets to be in that episode.
The other reason could be that “Instinct” is all about Clark's raw sexual magnetism, and the only way Smallville can achieve that illusion is by doing away with Justin Hartley and Sam Witwer. Sorry Tom Welling fans, but the Man of Steel is no longer the show's top hunk.

By now, we've all gotten a chance to watch Tess Mercer, Smallville's newest villain in action. She has been a welcome addition to the cast, bringing to the table a fresh new look and a new, complex villain to battle.
Today, for our final video interview from our visit to the set of Smallville, we find out all about the actress behind Tess, Cassidy Freeman. We caught Cassidy Freeman, who plays Tess Mercer, after she finished shooting a scene with Tom Welling. In the scene, Jimmy Olsen (Aaron Ashmore) had just come to her with a scoop about Metropolis' Good Samaritan (who is Clark, of course), which she assigns Clark to write up for the Daily Planet. Clark, wanting to keep his secret identity secret, tries to dissuade Tess from running the story, claiming that Lex Luthor would have thought better of running a “tabloid” story. It's a tense scene between Tess and Clark, each one trying to suss out the other's weaknesses, and foreshadows many clashes they'll have in the future.

There have been all sorts of characters from DC Comics appearing on Smallville over the years, and some have proven to be more interesting than others. Tomorrow night's episode, "Instinct," brings yet another famous comic book character to the series, and this time it'll be someone who has an eye on seducing Clark. The character of Maxima is an alien queen from the planet Almerac whose kiss kills mortal men. She also has the ability to make herself irresistible to any man, which means things will get pretty hot and heavy when she runs into Clark.
To get fans ready for tomorrow night's Smallville, we have some photos and a clip from the episode.
