Shear Genius, the competitive reality show that is like Project Runway with hair instead of clothes, is back tonight with its second season. Host Jaclyn Smith and mentor Rene Fris have returned for all of the hair-cutting fun, along with two new weekly judges and a bevy of rotating guest judges. The twelve finalists will compete to see who has the chops necessary to take the title of "Shear Genius" and win $100,000, an apprenticeship with Nexxus Salon Hair Care and a chance to style hair for an Allure magazine feature.
Tonight, the new crop of stylists will be tasked with cutting the hair of live clients while blindfolded and then must offer up interpretations of famous hairdos . . . with a twist.

During last night's episode of Project Runway, Bravo announced that their new reality series, Make Me a Supermodel, will premiere on Thursday, January 10 at 10pm. Make Me a Supermodel is a reality competition series (it does not, despite the title, involve extensive plastic surgery) that pits both male and female wannabe supermodels against each other in a competition to see who has the most supermodel potential. The winner receives $100,000 and a modeling contract. Although it may sound like a blatant rip-off of America's Next Top Model (it still kind of is), the big difference is that the competition is co-ed and will have viewers vote on the outcome, as opposed to the eliminations being decided by a panel of judges. In addition, Bravo also announced that they've green lit second seasons of both Top Design and Shear Genius.

After nine episodes of Shear Genius, the hairstyling reality program finally crowned Anthony Morrison as the winner of the competition. "I'm so happy to be Shear Genius... I can't even put it into words. It means so much," the 40-year-old England-native said after his victory was announced.
Shear Genius premiered on April 11, 2007 and took the viewers behind the scenes to chronicle the hairstyling events leading to a fashion show or a big event. For nearly two months, 12 contestants were put through challenges and weekly eliminations until a winner was determined. Hosted by Jaclyn Smith, the show also included judges like Sally Hershberger, Michael Carl with Rene Fris as the mentor.
