Judy Reyes, who has played Nurse Carla Espinosa on all seven season of Scrubs, announced that she will be leaving the series after next season. She joins lead Zach Braff, who has also said the upcoming eighth season will be his last. Scrubs spent its first seven seasons of existence on NBC, but will make the move to ABC this season, a rare move, but a welcome one for Scrubs fans – the show was supposed to be finished after its seventh season. Of course, there are no guarantees that there will be a ninth season, though Scrubs creator and show runner Bill Lawrence has expressed his desire to keep the show alive past the eighth season, despite possibly losing a number of characters. Reyes is looking to check out some film roles or head to Broadway in her post-Scrubs career.

Despite periodically struggling in the ratings and tinkering oh so close to cancellation, Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence swears that its eighth will be the year Scrubs become a hit, finally, after seven seasons. It will also move to its new home ABC after airing on NBC for the past seven seasons.
"I don't know if you know this," Lawrence said, "but you can't kill this show. It's going to go on forever."

The hit comedy series Scrubs is getting out of Sacred Heart hospital for an episode on a Bahamian island next season. The cast and crew filled up the population of the small town recently to film the episode.
“We were on a little island called Hope Town in the Bahamas. The population is 300, and we brought 84 people there, so we increased their population by about a third,” said series creator Bill Lawrence. Things got even better for everyone, when he heard how everyone in Hope Town was a fan of the show. Local officials of the island offered to foot the bill for the shoot, and Lawrence didn't hesitate to get on board.

Scrubs is getting quite the royal treatment at ABC, something the show has missed during its seven-year run on NBC. For one thing, the comedy's production will be upgraded to High Definition for its eighth season. Additionally, the network has also commissioned six webisodes to give the program some promotional boost.
While the future of Scrubs appears brighter as it arrives on its new home network, some changes are bound to happen that will drastically affect the future of the show. One of those changes is the departure of lead star Zach Braff.

Veteran actor Michael J. Fox is supposedly close to inking a contract with FX's Rescue Me for a multi-episode arc. Entertainment Weekly reports that the former Spin City and Back to the Future star is considering a role in the firefighter comedy drama as the love interest of Janet, played by Andrea Roth, Denis Leary's ex. Fox is reportedly seriously thinking about it, as he and Leary are longtime friends. If this pushes through, however, fans have to wait a teeny bit as Rescue Me won't be back until March next year.
Meanwhile, according to E! Online, Fox, who is also renowned for battling Parkinson's Disease, is also in talks with creator Bill Lawrence to reprise his role on the ABC comedy Scrubs. Now the two, Fox and Lawrence, go way back with Spin City, which Lawrence co-created. Fox's last appearance on the show was in 2004 for two episodes.
