There has been much speculation regarding where Scrubs, now on ABC, will end up on the schedule when it returns for its eighth, and likely final, season. A proposed mid-season schedule for ABC has been unearthed on Zap2It, and it provides ample insight into what ABC might be thinking come January. The proposed schedule, which has supposedly been given to advertisers, places Scrubs on Wednesday nights at 8pm, the slot currently held down by critical gem Pushing Daisies. Interestingly, the schedule has Scrubs in both the 8pm and 8:30pm time slots. What this means is unclear. Will ABC burn off two new episodes of Scrubs per week, as NBC once did? Or is one of those slots simply a place holder while ABC decides what other show to place next to Scrubs?

Scrubs season 7 was one of the many victims of the WGA writers' strike. Thanks to the strike, Scrubs only produced eleven episodes for season 7. There was also some question of whether NBC would even air the final episodes, and whether Scrubs would get a proper sign-off in what most believed to be the final season of Scrubs. Thankfully, ABC came to the rescue and picked up Scrubs for a final eighth season, which will air on ABC sometime in mid-season. Scrubs season 7, then, was shorter than expected, but it still brought the funny. The Scrubs Season 7 DVD was released today, but we were able to take a look at it prior to its release.

The first time I saw Elizabeth Banks in anything, I was watching Wet Hot American Summer in a college dorm room, and I was laughing a hearty laugh. Banks played a camp counselor, a slutty one, and she and Paul Rudd's character had a romance. A really gross one. There's a scene where the two of them make out after Banks eats ribs. She's got the sauce all over her face. This is Elizabeth Banks for you. Unafraid to go all-out for the sake of comedy, and still strangely alluring while doing so. Banks has gone from smaller roles on TV and in film to become a viable movie star. She was the female lead in last weekend's second highest grossing film, Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Earlier in October, Banks portrayed Laura Bush in Oliver Stone's W. And, on Friday, Banks' newest film, Role Models, will be released in theaters. It's been a good ride for the actress that many TV viewers first met as JD's baby mama on Scrubs.

Courteney Cox, erstwhile Friends mega-star, has fallen victim to what most formerly monstrous TV stars often do; she has yet to come close to recapturing her former fame, try as she might. Cox starred in the cable paparazzi drama Dirt, which faded away to mass indifference. She has an upcoming run on Scrubs' probably-final season, but today comes news of a promising new television project for the woman previously known as Monica Gellar. The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Cox and Scrubs show runner Bill Lawrence are joining forces on a new ABC comedy called Cougar Town. And, yes, the title is insinuating what you think it is: Cox will play a proverbial “cougar,” an attractive mother of a 17-year-old son.

Elizabeth Banks is someone who is recognizable but not wildly famous. These days, however, she's becoming quite the popular actress. After appearing as Dr. Kim Briggs, love interest of J.D. (Zach Braff) on Scrubs, the 34-year-old actress has been offered several projects such as W., the biographical film directed by Oliver Stone on the life and presidency of George W. Bush, and the movie Zack and Miri Make a Porno, which is expected to be released on Friday, October 31.
But unlike her other previous projects, the Scrub actress' latest film, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, has generated quite a huge buzz due to its sex and nude scenes, something the managers at Megaplex Theaters think might just be a tad too much for their conservative viewers.

John C. McGinley is a name that few people know. It must be weird to be known for your face more so than your name. If you saw John C. McGinley on the street, you would recognize him. His is a face rarely forgotten. He's appeared in about 3,000 feature films and on various television series. He has appeared in six Oliver Stone movies. Recent TV fans would probably recognize him as “That Surly Guy from Scrubs.” McGinley has portrayed Dr. Perry Cox in each of Scrubs eight TV seasons, and in doing so has nailed down his most consistent acting job of his prolific career. I feel compelled to write about Mr. John C. McGinley because he has always been a favorite of mine, perhaps inexplicably so. His work as one of the Bobs in Office Space is memorable stuff, and even in crappy movies (like The Animal or Wild Hogs) McGinley has always made an impression. As we approach what will likely be the final season of Scrubs, let us honor John C.

Zach Braff was supposed to explode after Garden State. That film made Braff a national phenomenon, and the Scrubs star was seemingly on the path to stardom. Since then, however, Braff's film career has stalled. He's remained on Scrubs, though the comedy hasn't exactly set the world on fire, enduring questionable handling by NBC before finally landing on ABC this year for its likely final season. Whether Scrubs goes one more year or not, this is Braff's last season on the medical comedy, after which he will try to return to post-Garden State levels of fame. But first, Braff will be the voice of water. Yes, water. Braff recently signed on to be the the spokesman for PUR Water Filtration's new $45 million dollar advertising campaign.

Scrubs was supposed to end last year on NBC. Then, it was supposed to just go away, with fans not allowed to even see the finale as it should have been. But, then, a TV miracle happened – ABC swooped in like a comedy Robin Hood and picked the show up for its eight season. So, in the rarest of moves, Scrubs will have aired on one channel for eight years and, in all likelihood, move to another channel for its final season. Just like last season was assumed to be Scrubs' last, this season is again assumed to be its final bow. However, it appears that Scrubs is a show that just won't die. Although Scrubs' eighth season finished filming its final episode recently, there are rumblings that Scrubs could live to see at least one more additional season, albeit without much of the original cast. Even if Scrubs is given this opportunity, should Scrubs come back?
