One of the hottest points of discussion during CW President Dawn Ostroff's session at the Television Critics Association press tour was the decision to outsource Sunday nights to Media Rights Capital. Though the shows had no panel presence at the tour, premiere dates and descriptions of the four new shows were revealed.
The shows range from reality to sitcom to drama and feature Full House's Bob Saget, Roseanne's Laurie Metcalf, Judge Reinhold and Autumn Reeser (best known as Taylor Townsend from The O.C.). The current schedule includes programming from 6:30-10pm, though MRC will also have programming from 5-6:30pm to be announced later.

Roseanne is an Emmy award-winning comedy series that aired on ABC from 1987 to 1998. The series followed the story of a working-class family, The Conners, in the fictional town of Lanford, Illinois. Comedienne Roseanne Barr was the most prominent figure in the show, playing wife and mother Roseanne Conner.
The series tackled a myriad of issues that, at the time of its original run, were considered taboo, and were thus, handled differently on other shows. The sitcom’s storylines often included such topics as poverty, alcoholism, narcotics, sex, obesity, feminism, domestic violence and homosexuality.

As Crystal Anderson Conner on the award-winning sitcom Roseanne, Natalie West was known for her Southern accent uptight persona and neurotic behavior. She portrayed Roseanne’s friend from childhood and former coworker at the Wellman Plastics factory who later on quit in order to start a successful cosmetics sales career. Moreover, she brought in humor as a character with a colorful marital history, being married three times prior to marrying Ed and becoming the stepmother of Dan (John Goodman). Later this year, she’ll be marking her comeback in the showbiz world with a new movie.

Estelle Parsons made her mark on television as Beverly Lorraine "Bev" Harris on the sitcom Roseanne. Distinctly known for her shrill and appallingly whiny voice, she portrayed the overbearing mother of lead character Roseanne. Throughout the show, she projected a generous mother who constantly shared her wealth by proving financial gifts to the family to help and bail them out. Despite her good intentions, most members of the family often avoided her for being a nagger. Although she was noted for being conservative and very traditional, as opposed to her daughter’s more liberal and feminist ideologies, she ironically turned out to be a lesbian towards the end of the series. In the near future, she’ll be taking on several dramatic projects set for the big screen.
