Rome is an ambitious historical drama on HBO that depicts the fall of the Roman Republic and the beginning of the Roman Empire. Rome features one of the highest budgets ever for a TV show, and it's obvious why. The viewer is transported into Ancient Rome, into a vibrant and brutal city. The first season of Rome followed the rise and fall of Julius Caesar and an introduction to soon to be Emperor Octavian.
