After putting the Veterans against the Rookies in crazy competitions like digging up teammates from their buried coffins or running across a beam high above water while the opposite team tries to knock them off with 25-pound medicine balls, the Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet III has finally crowned its winning team. In last week's final challenge, the Rookies emerged as the winner, receiving a check for $300,000, which is split into six equal shares among its remaining members, consisting of Frank Roessler, Jillian Zoboroski, Johanna Botta, Nehemiah Clark, Rachel Moyal, and Tori Hall.
If you missed some of the action in the 15th season of The Real World/Road Rules Challenge, you can still catch up on the drama as MTV airs a reunion special tonight.

Nowadays, many viewers consider reality shows to be full of scripted drama, especially with shows like The Hills, which has been rumored as fake. While many speculate that The Hills stretches reality a little more than the show should with all the re-shooting that's been fueling controversy, there's another reality series that claims to be genuinely non-scripted.
In an interview with andPOP, Evan Starkman of Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Gauntlet III talks about the authenticity of the reality series he is presently a part of and reveals what he thinks of The Hills' Heidi Montag.

Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Gauntlet III star, Danny Jamieson, a veteran of two other Real World editions, was among a trio of MTV reality stars who came to Hawkeye to help promote the village's fall renewal leasing special last month. Jamieson was joined by Matt McCoy from True Life and Rashawn “Bam Bam” Davis from Rob & Big.
The three reality stars spent a day at Hawkeye Community College's Tama Hall to meet with fans, sign some autographs and share their experiences on reality television.

A couple of weeks ago, we featured Johnny Devenanzio's thoughts on his “premature” departure from Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Gauntlet III. In that article, the ousted Devenanzio attributed part of his untimely exit to his teammate on the veterans squad, Evan Starkman.
This week, we bring you excerpts from Starkman's take on what happened between him and the man known as Johnny Bananas.

On the Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Gauntlet III, Evan Starkman is a member of the Veterans team, and rightfully so. Although he has never appeared on either The Real World or Road Rules, he has taken part in several Real World/ Road Rules Challenges, particularly Fresh Meat, where he was paired with fellow Gauntlet III contestant Coral, and The Duel. Those who think that Starkman has already had his fill of the show can think again, as he is having too much fun traveling to exotic locations and doing not-so-run-of-the-mill challenges.
"I treat the challenges with this mentality: if I ever had something better to be doing, I'd be doing it," he told dose.ca. "They're a lot of fun, you know; it's a free vacation. I get to do things that people don't even believe. I feel like my kids are gonna think I'm a liar. 'No, kids, I swear to God, I was in Mexico. I jumped off a thousand-foot building.' So I'll keep doing them while they're still fun."

Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio was the latest cast member cut from Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Gauntlet III, and although he had planned to stay in the competition for a longer period of time, he says his “premature” exit allowed him to leave the show a dignified person.
“Although my departure was much more premature than I had originally planned, it was the only path I could take that would allow me to leave with my dignity intact,” Devenanzio wrote on his iamonmtv personality blog. “I have my own set of rules that define the integrity and credibility of who I am and how I compete, and these were qualities this Veteran squad didn't seem to possess. After sitting through the nauseating final deliberation, and watching team mates, friends, and supposed allies fold like spineless cowards, I knew that my time here had expired.”

Real World/ Road Rules Challenge: Gauntlet III just recently premiered on MTV, but cast member Johanna Botta is already busy preparing for another intense and grueling competition.
Apparently, she will be one of the lovely contestants on the upcoming Miss Peru Universe, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 16. Botta made the announcement on both her MySpace and iamonmtv.com blogs.
