It's no secret that Girlicious, the American pop all girl group formed by Robin Antin on the reality series Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, has already started recording their debut album and working on music videos. In the coming weeks, they'll be as busy as ever as they promote their new singles on tour.
Girlicious, which consists of Nichole Cordova, Tiffanie Anderson, Chrystina Sayers and Natalie Mejia, has not received a lot of attention from the United Sates as compared to Canadian audiences, despite being nominated for "Breakout Group" and for the category of "Reality: Music Competition" at this year's Teen Choice Awards. For this reason, the group's first studio album will be officially released in Canada on August 12.

As Girlicious, the product of the reality show Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, recently headed to Canada for the MuchMusic Video Awards, an article on Canada’s largest daily newspaper criticized the group for, among others, not knowing Canada’s current prime minister.
“She knows next to nothing about Canada. Asked to name our current prime minister, and given three choices – Pierre Trudeau, Tim Horton and Stephen Harper – she chooses Tim Horton. Told that is the name of a doughnut store, she shouts, ‘Are you serious?’” reads a Toronto Star article by Bill Brioux.

Honestly, this embarrasses me more for writing about it and now having to practically take it back, than it probably does her. Not my fault though. What is it, you say? Well, lets flashback to last week. Remember we broke the news that toxic former pop princess, Britney Spears, had shot a brief cameo for the Pussycat Dolls' new video? How a lot can happen in less than seven days and with the help of the sometimes brutal magic of the editing room. Depending on which side of the fence you stand on, either the gods have heard your uproar or fate has struck a cruel blow.
Alas, Britney Spears' infamous little stint on the Pussycat Dolls' “When I Grow Up” video never made it past post-production. Her sequence as a motorist driving by and waving to the Dolls was left out of the finished product, which debuted Friday, June 13, on the new FNMTV.

Since they first broke into the world stage, the Pussycat Dolls have successfully shocked and awed audiences with their long legs, taut bodies, come-hither stares, skimpy outfits, and oh, yeah, hooky dance tunes and girl-power lyrics. Now back with their new single from their upcoming second album, the Dolls are pulling out all the stops and calling in all connections to get “When I Grow Up” out there.
No less than the toxic former princess of pop has become the latest poster girl for the Pussycat Dolls' brand-new offering.

With all sorts of major and not so major awards taking place in the calendar, both the parent Pussycat Dolls and their most recent by-product (for lack of a better term) are making their presence felt with album-promoting performances. Over the weekend, the original Pussycat Dolls provided one half of the two main acts on the bill at the MTV Movie Awards.
Meanwhile, their Girlicious counterparts from the latest Pussycat Dolls Present reality tilt are also on tap for the upcoming 19th Annual MuchMusic Video Awards later this month.

Since winning in Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, the four ladies of the band have been appearing in various events to promote their upcoming album, which hits retail stores in July 1. The girls have sung the National Anthem for the Galaxy earlier this month and have completed their second Like Me Webisode, which featured a behind-the-scenes look at the girls as they discuss their melodies, style, lyrics and choreography.
More recently, the girls have been featured in Blender.com as the Blender Breakout Artist. In fact, in the little clip they made for the magazine, the girls discussed the meaning of Girlicious, their first concerts, and what they do to warm up and get the chills out before each performance.

Who says Girlicious has stolen the glam crown from the Pussycat Dolls? Fans get ready because the Dolls are in fact heading back to stage with a brand new album that's coming up in the next few months. The band's lead singer, Nicole Scherzinger, reportedly put her struggling solo career on hold while the sexy girl band got back together to create their sophomore album. In fact, PR-Inside reports that the Dolls enlisted the help of Taio Cruz, the man behind the U.K. hit “Come on Girl.”
“I want to do something that will be a complete contrast to their usual style,” Cruz told PR-Inside. “Nicole [Scherzinger] has put her solo career on hold to concentrate on PCD so it's a really important album. Since ‘Come On Girl,' I've been receiving lots more calls about writing for people.”

We haven’t heard much from the Pussycat Dolls after their smash hit and self-titled debut album came out and featured radio-friendly hits such as “Dontcha,” “Stick Wit U,” “Buttons,” and “Beep” way back in 2005. Since then, the girls have released hit after hit, and fans couldn’t wait for their sophomore album to come around. Due to the success of their debut album, the Dolls were able to tour the world, and come 2007, PDC lead singer Nicole Scherzinger was given a chance to go solo as an artist. She was able to release singles “Whatever You Like” and the more popular “Baby Love,” but was never able to release a full length album. To this date, her official website says that the album, entitled “Her Name is Nicole,” is “coming soon.”
Nonetheless, fans mustn’t worry because they’ll be seeing more of Nicole Scherzinger and the rest of the Pussycat Dolls as they are ready to come back to center stage with their much awaited sophomore album, which is set to hit retail stores very soon.
