15 Hottest TV Dads: #3 - Sam Bennett, Private Practice

June 12, 2008

Taye Diggs, Private Practice<<PREVIOUS          NEXT>>

Although he is divorced, Private Practice's Dr. Sam Bennett (Taye Diggs) is making the best of the situation, maintaining an amicable relationship with his ex-wife and remaining a strong role model for his daughter. Sam is a caring, nurturing physician who treats his patients' whole lives, and has earned the professional nickname “Dr. Feelgood.” We can only agree with that diagnosis because, after all, he is played by Taye Diggs. It may lack believability that such a devoted doctor can afford to find the time to keep that physique in shape, but once again, we offer our primary rationale for Sam Bennett being a hot father: he's played by freaking Taye Diggs.

'Private Practice' Stars "Obsessed with Making Kisses Look Real"

January 9, 2008

Tim Daly and Kate WalshKate Walsh is head over heels in love with her new husband, Alex Young, but this doesn't mean that she's reluctant to share steamy kisses with Private Practice costar Tim Daly.

“See, Tim and I are obsessed with making the kisses [on the show] look real,” Walsh explained to TV Guide, adding that she even sometimes asks Young to weigh in on all the lip action.  “[One night,] Alex was watching at home and I called and said, "Did it seem hot?" and he said, "Yeah, it was really hot — if I wasn't your husband!"

'Private Practice' Star Grateful for Timely Blessings

January 4, 2008

Kate Walsh & Alex YoungWhile the writers' strike continues without any clear developments, TV Guide has had the chance to chat with Private Practice star, Kate Walsh, on the charmed life she's led this past year.  The actress, who recently turned 40, candidly shared a more private side of her life, particularly the side involving romance and marriage.

Walsh certainly had a banner year in 2007.  First she got her own series, spun off the hugely successful Grey's Anatomy, and then got engaged and eventually married a FOX top executive.  Private Practice's lead actress is the first to admit, however, that all her blessings came at just the right point in her life, when she has enough seasons and grace to handle them.

'Private Practice' Showrunner Throws Support Behind Striking Writers

November 7, 2007

Shonda RhimesAs with its parent series, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice doesn't appear to be exempt from the repercussions and ripple effects of the ongoing strike being staged by the Writers Guild of America (WGA).  Yesterday, we reported on our Grey's Anatomy page that star Patrick Dempsey himself has expressed concern for both the consequences for the show, as well as its personnel.

If the writers' walkout endures for an extended period of time, Private Practice, like many other series, may be forced to go off the air or resort to reruns.  Despite such a grim possibility, Shonda Rhimes, its creator and executive producer, has decided to give her complete support to the writers' cause.
