As we reported last week, Men in Trees, one of the final few left standing with scripts, finally succumbed to the four month-long writers' strike and shut down production. It wrapped up filming its last original content installment on Thursday, cutting short the show's production schedule which normally runs through to April.
James Tupper, who stars as Jack Slattery on Men in Trees, told The Canadian Press that many of their crew have expressed their intent to leave the Vancouver and Squamish, British Columbia where the show is filmed, in search of other available projects.

Now that the writers' guild strike has entered its 11th week, and still with no resolution on the horizon, the final few shows still holding out with enough original content for production are falling prey one by one. Men in Trees stands to become the walkout's latest casualty when work shuts down today in Vancouver, where the series is filmed.
Men in Trees and Smallville are the last two live action shows still in production in Greater Vancouver, with Smallville scheduled to wrap up on January 23. Both programs were originally supposed to shoot their episodes all the way until the middle of April.

It's been close to eight years since Men in Trees star Anne Heche turned her affections towards men after maintaining a relationship with comedian/talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres for two years. At the rate her bitter divorce from cameraman Coleman Laffoon is going, the actress may be wishing she'd remained a lesbian.
Back in May of 2007, we reported that Laffoon had filed court papers in which he questioned the Men in Trees star's psychological capacity as mother to their son, Homer. He had requested for joint legal and primary physical custody of the child, along with monthly child support. Since then, Laffoon has been granted custody of Homer and $15,000 in child allowance.

Men in Trees' John Amos is now a country music artist. Thanks to their show's recent hiatus, a 16-year old boy with the right lineage and a series of uncanny coincidences, Amos now has a five-year record contract with Nashville's Music Row Records.
On ABC's Men in Trees, the soon-to-turn 68-year old Amos plays the character Buzz Washington. Over the years, this veteran actor has stretched his wings in various fields including football, writing, stand up comedy, and now, country music singing.

ABC's Men In Trees has just begun its second season, but the network is already moving it into a new timeslot beginning Friday, November 2.
Starting next week, viewers will have to tune in two hours earlier every Friday night to catch Men in Trees. The show is swapping timeslots with the network's long-running newsmagazine, 20/20. This schedule was actually ABC's plan for the two shows when the network made its announcements during May upfronts.

After a long break, ABC's Men in Trees is finally returning to the small screen tonight with its second season opener, “A Tree Goes in Elmo.”
According to the network, the episode will have Cash (Scott Elrod) accompanying Marin (Anne Heche) to a guru in order to help her get rid of issues that serve as a hindrance. On their way back, an arctic cyclone erupts, leaving Jack (James Tupper) to look for them, despite a pregnant Lynn's (Justine Bateman) protests.
