men in treesMen In Trees has been off the air for several weeks now ever since ABC altered its schedule to accommodate the return of Women's Murder Club, which moved to Tuesdays while Boston Legal moved to the Wednesday slot that used to be the home of the romantic dramedy starring Anne Heche.  Putting the series on hold for third time has left viewers on the edge, not knowing when and how the show will resolve its loose ends.  But now, the network has decided to make room for the return of Men In Trees.

men in treesLike most of the cast and crew of Men In Trees, lead star Anne Heche is also struggling to find work after ABC decided to cancel the series.  And now that the 38-year-old actress is unemployed, she can no longer afford to pay for child support.

"I am continuing to look for work, but I have no offers pending and the impending strike by the Screen Actors Guild reduces my prospects for work even further," Heche wrote in court papers.

men in treesPreviously on Men In Trees, the residents of Elmo hoped for the best after learning that Jack's life may be in danger.  Marin focused her energy on helping Cash through his illness, Patrick asked a young woman out on a date, while Annie found out some surprising news about Jerome's past life.  Towards the end, Jack came back and Cash tried to stay out of Marin and Jack's way by telling her that he's miraculously cured.

men in treesMen in Trees has been in hiatus since January as one of the many scripted series affected by the Writers Guild of America strike.  But now, the show is back on the air and is equipped with 11 new episodes, starting off with “Charity Case” which aired last Wednesday. Talking about the second season of the romantic dramedy is show creator Jenny Bicks, who also reveals what's in store for Patrick, Cash, Buzz, Pastor Eric, and of course, Jack and Marin.

'Men in Trees' Shuts Down Under Cloud of Uncertainty

James TupperAs we reported last week, Men in Trees, one of the final few left standing with scripts, finally succumbed to the four month-long writers' strike and shut down production.  It wrapped up filming its last original content installment on Thursday, cutting short the show's production schedule which normally runs through to April.

James Tupper, who stars as Jack Slattery on Men in Trees, told The Canadian Press that many of their crew have expressed their intent to leave the Vancouver and Squamish, British Columbia where the show is filmed, in search of other available projects.
