Making the Band is a reality television show from MTV hosted by famed rapper and record producer Sean Combs, a.k.a. Diddy. It follows the mogul’s nationwide talent search to handpick young men and women to be part of a performing group and musical act, and shows the chemistry and tension that ensues between members along the way. Those who don’t make the cut and please the crowds get sent home by Diddy, while he backs up and supports those who do. The show gave rise to the careers of Da Band, O-Town, and Danity Kane, and is set for an all-new fourth season on the way.
