While actor Andrew St. John has never been forced by his family to relocate to Africa, he says he can relate to his character, Jesse Weller, on the CW's Life is Wild. Those who have been tuning in to the show since it premiered on Sunday, October 7, already know that Jesse, though now part of a complete family, is actually a product of a broken home, something which St. John is all too familiar with.
I came from [a broken home] myself,” St. John told The CW Source, “so [Jesse's situation] was pretty relatable, [with a] father not being in the picture.”

The CW's new drama, Life is Wild, premiered to last Sunday to sorely disappointing numbers.
The show's debut only earned 1.642 million viewers, not even 10,000 more than the network's worst-ever opening audience of 1.635 million for the summer production, Hidden Palms. Worse yet, only three-tenths of a percent of viewers in the CW's target demographic, 18-to-34-year-olds, were among the ones who tuned in that night, setting a new low for a scripted series on the cable network.

The newest CW family drama, Life is Wild, premieres tonight at 8pm and stars D.W. Moffett as Danny Clarke, a world-famous veterinarian. One day he decides to move his entire family from New York City to South Africa on a humanitarian trip. Living in the old bed and breakfast founded by the parents of his late first wife, he struggles to bond with his children.
D.W. Moffett spoke to BuddyTV a while back, calling in from Africa, where Life is Wild is currently filming. Below you will find the mp3 audio file of the interview, as well as a brief synopsis of the major points he discussed.

Considering its title and premise, Life is Wild certainly conjures images of nature at its rawest and most untouched. Revolving around a New York city family that's uprooted to the savage land of South Africa, is it any wonder that animals would play a huge part in the new CW series set to take flight tonight?
Based on the British series, Wild at Heart, Life is Wild stars Leah Pipes as a disconcerted teenager, upset with her veterinarian father's (D.W. Moffett) decision to move their brood halfway across the globe to an untamed, unforgiving territory. To achieve the authenticity of life in the African setting, Life is Wild is shot on a 1,500-acre farm complete with lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes, impalas, wildebeests and zebras among other beasts. As such, cast and crew constantly have to work up close and personal with various species of exotic four-legged creatures.

In BuddyTV's 2007 Fall TV Guide, we assessed each night to see which shows the major networks were pitting against each other, and determined which ones would emerge victorious in the ratings war.
Sunday is quite the boring night for TV. Basically, it's a lot of the same old stuff we've become accustomed to on Sunday nights, and the two new shows are likely to fall through the cracks.
