On tonight's episode of How I Met Your Mother, Ted is convinced that he's able to move on from being dumped on his wedding day, just 24 hours after it happened. His friends try several ways to cheer him up, but he insists that he's fine and doesn't need anyone getting him through this tough time. Lily finally snaps and tells Ted that he's pissing them off because he is refusing to accept their help. When it's time to find a place to eat, it seems that just about everywhere in Manhattan is unacceptable, since each restaurant is in close proximity to somewhere Stella may or may not show up. Is Ted avoiding Stella? Absolutely.

Alyson Hannigan recently announced that she is pregnant with her first child. She is set to give birth sometime next Spring. Hannigan's character on How I Met Your Mother, Lily, is happily married and without children. The opportunity to incorporate Lily's pregnancy into How I Met Your Mother is right there, ready for the writers to take advantage of. But – will they? Should they? Depending upon how open Hannigan has been to Carter Bays and Craig Thomas about her pregnancy, How I Met Your Mother might already be in the process of working it into the show. Hannigan may have told producers weeks ago that she was pregnant. Working around actress pregnancies has been done before on television (Julia Louis-Dreyfus on Seinfeld, Angela Kinsey on The Office), but it can be a pain and limit what that actress can do on screen. A difficult question for How I Met Your Mother lies ahead.

It looks like we'll be adding one more actress to the recent baby bump brigade. Following the rampant rumors of Jennifer Aniston and Jamie Lynn Spears' pregnancies, People.com reported this morning that Alyson Hannigan is pregnant. Alyson, 34, and husband Alexis Denisof, 42, announced that they are expecting their first child this spring.
Currently, Alyson Hannigan stars as Lily Aldrin on the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Jason Segel plays her TV husband, Marshall Erikson. I consider Lily and Marshall television's best couple and Hannigan's pregnancy might mean a pregnancy for Lily. In general, I'm not a fan of babies on TV, but Lily and Marshall have always wanted to start a family. I'm really not sure how I feel about it. I'm like Natalie Imbrulia: Torn. There's no news yet on how Hannigan's pregnancy might affect the fourth season.

As reported previously, Genoa's most powerful man will make a stab at comedy as The Young and the Restless' Eric Braeden guest stars on How I Met Your Mother. This may seem like a huge departure from playing the infamous Victor Newman on daytime TV but the 67-year-old says that's not the case.
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Braeden shares his experience while filming How I Met Your Mother, and how it compares to his work on The Young and the Restless.

I guess we'll see you around, Sarah Chalke. That was an abrupt sign-off. How I Met Your Mother is a show whose plotting and story structure I generally praise without shame, but I have to take slight umbrage with how Bays and Thomas opted to wrap up The Ballad of Stella and Ted. There was simply way too much story in last night's episode than twenty-two minutes can reasonably hold. How I Met Your Mother did the best it could in that accelerated time frame, generating laughs amidst the necessary dramatic beats. Yet, at the end, my most pressing thought was that this needed to be an hour-long episode. The "wedding episode" always needs to take its time and, while I suppose there was no actual wedding to film, there was more than enough material to make it a two-parter.

Things are progressing quickly this season on How I Met Your Mother, but not as quickly as Ted's relationship with Stella. If people thought he jumped the gun by proposing to her without really knowing her all that well, then they were floored when the two decided to plan a wedding in just 3 days. Stella's dream wedding idea was stolen by her sister but when their relationship ended abruptly, Ted and his fiance decided to jump at the opportunity to have everything they wanted. Unfortunately, the presence of exes threatens to ruin their perfect day. In the year 2030, Ted teaches his children one important lesson: never invite your ex to your wedding and boy, was he right.

There's a big wedding on tonight's brand-new How I Met Your Mother, airing at 8:30pm on CBS. Planned for Stella's sister, the wedding hits a snag three days before the ceremony when her fiancé leaves her. With a huge wedding planned and paid for, Ted and Stella make the impulsive decision to tie the knot themselves, giving them just three days to get everything in order.
BuddyTV visited the set of How I Met Your Mother during this very special episode and got an inside look at what's in store for tonight's episode. Aside from the wedding, this episode also marks the beginning of Robin's new job in Japan, which involves a monkey. Suit up! It’s Barney Stinson’s call to action, a commandment he lives by. In today’s age of the GAP, casual Friday has become every day and men are content to wear jeans or khakis for a night out on the town.
But not Barney. He respects himself and the power of the suit. He knows what he wants and how to get it, and step one is to always wear a suit. Whether you’re going out for some drinks or posing as an old man from the future, Barney teaches all of us that the trick to leading a successful life is by wearing a suit.
