As reported previously, Universal Home Entertainment will be releasing the fourth season DVD of House, in which pre-orders are presently being accepted by Amazon prior to its official release date on August 19. Now, more details have emerged that will hopefully give fans more reasons to purchase the much awaited set.
The fourth season of House premiered on September 25, 2007 and was condensed to 16 instead of the typical 24 installments due to the interruption of the 2007-2008 WGA Strike. The season kicked off with House (Hugh Laurie) working fast to diagnose a young woman who survived a collapsed building, without a team since he fired Chase (Jesse Spencer), and Foreman (Omar Epps) and Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) quit.

It's a little over three months and counting till we get fresh doses of House, which is set to return with its fifth season on Tuesday, September 16 at 8pm. It leads the way for J.J. Abrams' latest offering, Fringe, which makes its time period premiere that same night. The highly touted new series from the creator of cult favorites Alias and Lost makes its special two-hour debut the week before on September 9.
For the time being, House cast members have been keeping busy with their own film projects, either with post-production or actual filming. Here's a roll call of what some House regulars are working on right now.

FOX is the most creative network around. You might hate some of the shows it produces (cough The Moment of Truth cough), but you have to give FOX props for the way it creates its schedule. If there is a new series the network is proud of, FOX promotes the hell out of it, and often premiere it after a veteran, highly rated series for good measure. Thanks to American Idol, FOX constructs two very distinct Fall and Winter/Spring seasons, dodging the inclination to air most of its big shows year-round. FOX has embraced the idea of airing its serial dramas with little or no breaks. Today, FOX released the schedule for their Fall premieres. There are a handful of two-hour premieres planned, including one for the most highly-anticipated new series of the Fall, the J.J. Abrams produced Fringe.

We've barely gotten our second wind from the emotionally-charged two-part finale of House's fourth season. It's all over for the fourth season of the FOX medical dramedy, House. Last week marked the close of the season, with the airing of the second half of its two-part finale entitled “Wilson's Heart.” The broadcast fueled House to the top of that night's ratings ladder (not counting Dancing with the Stars), which in turn, helped propel FOX past the other networks. Part two of the House season ender drew in a total of 16.2 million viewers, 5.7 million of which were from the coveted 18-49 demographic for a 14 share of that night's numbers.
On the heels of House's successful fourth season closer, E! Online got in touch with the show's executive producer, David Shore, in hopes of getting some juicy inside skinny on the ripple effect/s of the finale.
