When I fall in love with a new project from one of my favorite writers I usually have plenty of time to spend with it before it comes to an end. That's not the case with Joss Whedon's Internet musical extravaganza, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. The three-act series about a lovelorn supervillain just started last Tuesday, and today the final installment was released on iTunes and at DrHorrible.com. It'll be available for free on the website until Sunday, then will disappear until a DVD packed with special features is released sometime in the future. Though it's sad to see such a wonderful, unique project come to an end, at least Dr. Horrible goes out on top.

One of the hottest points of discussion during CW President Dawn Ostroff's session at the Television Critics Association press tour was the decision to outsource Sunday nights to Media Rights Capital. Though the shows had no panel presence at the tour, premiere dates and descriptions of the four new shows were revealed.
The shows range from reality to sitcom to drama and feature Full House's Bob Saget, Roseanne's Laurie Metcalf, Judge Reinhold and Autumn Reeser (best known as Taylor Townsend from The O.C.). The current schedule includes programming from 6:30-10pm, though MRC will also have programming from 5-6:30pm to be announced later.

The TCA panel with CW president Dawn Ostroff was a bit like a firing squad. Between the loss of WWE Friday Night Smackdown and two of its urban comedies and the outsourcing of Sunday nights to Media Rights Capital, Ostroff had a lot to answer for.
In addition, Ostroff spoke about many of the dramatic upcoming changes for the network, including a possible very early start for next season, the strength of online content over traditional ratings for Gossip Girl, and she finally previewed the new horror reality series 13.

Well I was definitely blindsided by this episode of America's Best Dance Crew 2. I would never have put either A.S.I.I.D. or Super Cr3w in the bottom, much less both of them. I was really disappointed that this match-up sent A.S.I.I.D. home. While they sometimes had technical issues, they were so entertaining, and I feel like the show lost one of the more interesting crews when their banner fell.
This episode was surprising in another way too. I would have thought that an episode centered on Janet Jackson, a dancer with such strong signature moves who also makes great dance songs, would have generated much more exciting routines. But as each crew noted they wanted to live up to her standards, maybe her precise and controlled style was actually more of a constraint. The routines were overall fairly strong, but I felt like no crew truly cut loose and brought the wow factor. Nevertheless, I'll try to pick some Best and Worst performances.

The 90210 panel at the TCA press tour was full of surprises and information. Creator Gabe Sachs announced right away that the rumors are true and Shannen Doherty will be appearing on the new show, guest starring as a special drama teacher who will direct the high school's musical. Additionally, 90210 will premiere on September 2 with a two-hour pilot.
Doherty joins fellow Beverly Hills 90210 alumni Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling as the three confirmed returning stars, though fans will also get the return of the new and improved Peach Pit, still owned by Nat (Joe E. Tata). Though the producers refused to address specifics about what's happened to those characters, they promised that the roles will be recurring and not just random special cameos.

This is hard. I hardly know these people, and yet I have to rank them based on their supposed “power.” This season could go any number of ways. Hell, I don't even have my rooting interests yet. My pre-season favorite was Brian and, guess what, he was eliminated after one week inside the Big Brother house. As it stands now, there are a few outsiders, with a large, vague alliance targeting them. Will it last? Probably not. I expect the house to splinter into a million different pieces over the next two weeks. After the dust settles, we'll have a much better idea as to what will actually go down and who the prohibitive favorites are. For now, the rankings are, and must be, totally speculative.

Earlier this week, BuddyTV reported that Amy Poehler is in negotiations to star in NBC's The Office spin-off, which is set to premiere at mid-season. This has led speculations of the 36-year-old actress' departure on Saturday Night Live, where is currently a cast member. Now, confirmation comes from Poehler herself who told The Associated Press that she will in fact be leaving the sketch comedy where she catapulted to national fame.
Despite earning an Emmy nomination for her work on Saturday Night Live, Poehler has decided to exit the show to make way for her role on The Office spin-off, a role that is rumored to be similar to that of Steve Carell's character in The Office.

The folks at Showtime had plenty to be excited about as their panels at the TCA began. Yesterday the network finally broke through at the Emmys to score its first ever nomination for Outstanding Drama Series for Dexter and also saw acting nominations for Michael C. Hall from Dexter and Mary-Louise Parker from Weeds.
While the past year brought ratings records and plenty of awards, Showtime is looking to the future. The network just ordered two more seasons of Weeds following the current one, it's picking up two new comedies starring a pair of top-tier actresses and a potential spin-off for The L Word.

Darryl McDaniels, aka DMC, might want to put a call in to his former bandmate and friend, Reverend Joseph “Run” Simmons. After all, the reverend is probably tight with the big guy upstairs. McDaniels was admitted to a hospital in New Jersey where he will undergo surgery for two serious blood clots. He has already pulled out of his upcoming scheduled appearances in order to take time to rest and recuperate. McDaniels had been complaining of pain and swelling in his left arm. When he consulted with doctors, they immediately sent him to the hospital to be treated.

Today was my first day at the Television Critics Association summer press tour as an official TCA member. Arriving at the massive ballroom at the Beverly Hilton, it's a tad intimidating to see about 200 fellow TV critics (nearly all lit by the glow of their laptops) facing the stage where the new shows will attempt to explain why we should care about them.
I'll be here in Los Angeles for the next five days covering all the hot panels, attending the swanky parties and set visits, and reporting back on what happens when TV critics and stars collide.

When Jessica King had to bow out of So You Think You Can Dance due to an injury, Comfort Fedoke was brought back to take her place. When Comfort landed in the bottom two last night, it seemed apparent that she would be eliminated - again. Yet, it was Kherington Payne who ended up getting the boot, a results show that surprised everyone from the judges to the audience to her fellow dancers. Kherington took it all in stride, telling BuddyTV that she had prepared herself just in case it ended up being her who had to go home. She lit up the stage for much of the competition but the judges started to worry, in recent weeks, that she had lost her fire. Today, Kherington spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview and addressed the issue. She also let us know what Mary said to her after her elimination and gave her true feelings on former partner, Twitch Boss.

Who could forget Gev's audition this year for So You Think You Can Dance? As if his breakdancing skills weren't impressive enough, he showed off on a pair of ice skates! From that day on, Gev became a sentimental favorite, catapulting him this year's Top 10. He was paired with contemporary dancer Courtney Galiano for much of the competition. The two worked beautifully together and had great chemistry. Nigel even teased Gev, saying that when he got a new partner, he wasn't as focused because he was still thinking of Courtney. After being eliminated last night, Gev talked to BuddyTV today in an exclusive interview and addressed those romance rumors!

It can be rather daunting to sit down and watch a show that has garnered endless critical acclaim. The more people rave about a particular series, the higher expectations build and the more likely it is a new viewer will be disappointed by what's actually on screen. This is what worried me when I popped the first disc of AMC's Mad Men into my DVD player a couple weeks ago. I had seen the pilot when it originally aired and wasn't blown away, but since then the show had landed on numerous top 10 lists and garnered tons of Emmy buzz. I pressed play, kept an open mind, and allowed myself to be transported back to the 1960s, where a group of men and women at an advertising agency dealt with problems both personal and professional. I'm happy to report that season 1 of Mad Men more than lived up to the hype, and now rivals Lost and Friday Night Lights as my favorite show currently on the air.
If you want to see for yourself what all the fuss is about, AMC will be airing a marathon of the series beginning this Sunday at noon.

On yesterday's General Hospital, Patrick punches Eli on Anna's behalf for making her feel bad about herself for being a soon-to-be grandma. Lucky and Sam go undercover to figure out the medication mixup in Port Charles. Nadine tells Nikolas that Matt knows more than he's saying but he overhears her talking about him.
Carly meets with Claudia, to see if they can work together to get rid of Kate Howard. Maxie tells Spinelli and Jason that she doesn't have time to talk about anything else other than Lulu, who's about to crack. Lulu walks into the police station, with a gun in her purse, and asks to see Johnny.
