High School Musical

-Comedy Disney's High School Musical is a Disney Channel Original Movie that chronicles the journey of two high school students in a quest to perform in their school musical. One student is Troy, the captain of the high school basketball team, or "jock." The other student is Gabriella, a shy and smart new student, or "braniac." As these two audition for the lead roles in their high school musical, it shocks the other students so much that they conspire to try to ruin their chances. At the end, Troy and Gabriella prevail and triumph over the accepted "jock" and "braniac" norms to inspire their peers to unveil their talents too.

Will 'High School Musical' Star Play Gay Brothers?

While Zac Efron is grateful for the doors that High School Musical has opened for him, he seems anxious to break away from his character, Troy Bolton, and try his hand at other projects. He has already played heartthrob Link Larkin in the big screen version of Hairspray and has several other movies on the way. He will star in Seventeen Again, playing a young version of Matthew Perry. Later in the year, he will appear in Me and Orson Welles, as part of a star studded cast. Rumor has it that Efron could next be seen playing gay twins in an upcoming movie.

High School Musical: It Ain't Over Yet! Get Ready For HSM4

High School Musical 3 is preparing to start filming next week in Utah. The movie, which will hit the big screen in October of 2008, is stepping things up a notch from the previous films. The dance numbers are bigger, the rehearsals are longer, and there will be lots of surprises in store for fans. Considering the success of the HSM series, no one really expected Disney to call it a day after the third one wrapped filming. It was announced this week that the show will go out with or without the entire cast. A fourth movie is currently being written and is officially in the works!

Ashley Tisdale: recording artist, movie star, and now … deodorant spokesperson. The actress has recently signed on to be the face of Degree Girl deodorant’s OMG campaign and spoke to Extra TV about why she’s the perfect girl for the job. “This is something you can have when you have those OMG moments. I’ve had those moments,” she admitted. “It’s something that every teenage girl needs. It’s not just happening to you, it happens to everyone.” Sweaty armpits, that is. Tisdale has more to talk about than just perspiration and odor. She talked everybody’s favorite subject these days: High School Musical 3.

'High School Musical: Summer Session' Details and Casting Call

Talented High School Musical fans who have dreamed of being part of the popular movie franchise are about the get the opportunity of a lifetime.  ABC will unveil their latest reality program, High School Musical: Summer Session, this July.  The contestants will attend a summer music program and compete elimination style to win the grand prize.  Though the exact details of the grand prize have not been revealed yet, the internet rumor is that they will appear on the High School Musical 3 soundtrack among other things.  This week, ABC released casting information and how HSM fans can be part of this exciting summer show.

ABC Unveils Premiere Date For 'High School Musical' Reality Series

This week, ABC revealed their summer schedule. Reality shows such as The Bachelorette and The Mole will return this May after being off the air for some time. New reality competitions, Wipeout and I Survived a Japanese Game Show, will also premiere in late June. ABC will also debut a reality dance competition, Dance Machine, also in late June. This July, the network will air High School Musical: Summer Session, a reality show about teens and young adults attending a summer music program.

The minute High School Musical first aired on The Disney Channel in 2006, Efron became a huge celebrity and has been followed by the paparazzi ever since. Being the nice guy that he is, Efron was often open with the press about his personal life but learned quickly and now clams up when they are around. He has stopped talking about his relationship with costar Vanessa Hudgens, which has often made its way onto the covers of various tabloid magazines. He is trying his hardest to stay out of the spotlight when he’s off camera and recently told the paparazzi why they don’t find him partying in Hollywood.

Disney Officially Announces New 'High School Musical 3' Cast Members ... A Little Late

Disney sent out a pre-press release last week letting the media know that a big announcement was coming today regarding High School Musical 3. Unfortunately for them, they were scooped a few days in advance and their big fanfare came to a screeching halt when fans said, “Uh yeah! We already knew that!” Disney has officially announced the addition of three new cast members to High School Musical 3.
