Heroes: Jack Coleman Hints on Character Plots for Season 3

May 6, 2008

heroesExecutive producer and director Allan Arkush has already hinted on some of the details of the upcoming season of Heroes but cast member Jack Coleman has even more to say about what's in the cards for his character Noah Bennett and the rest of the characters of the NBC's science fiction series.

While some heroes are bound to go into the dark side, there are also some villains who are expected to turn good.  This, according to the 50-year-old actor, is one of the many twists to watch out for when Heroes returns on September 15.

'Friday Night Lights' Casting News: Brea Grant to 'Heroes,' Jesse Plemons to 'Fear Itself'

May 5, 2008

Jesse Plemons and Brea Grant made quite the couple on Friday Night Lights.  Grant played Landry's rebound love interest during the second season of Friday Night Lights and made a pretty darn good impression on fans and TV executives alike.  Jesse Plemons has always been a fan favorite as Landry.  NBC is apparently a big fan of both.  Today, it has been announced that both Plemons and Grant have been cast in two different NBC franchises – one new and one old.  Brea Grant is joining the cast of Heroes next season, while Jesse Plemons will appear in an episode of NBC's summer anthology series Fear Itself

'Heroes' Executive Producer Spills the Beans on Season 3

April 26, 2008

heroesLittle by little, details about the third season of Heroes have gradually surfaced in the internet.  So far, we already know that the new season will be a breeding ground for new characters and will be swarming with villains teaming up to destroy the earth.  Shedding more light about the sci-fi series is executive producer and director Allan Arkush, who promises that Heroes will be returning with a bang on September 15 with the first and second episodes airing back-to-back.

When we last saw Heroes, Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) has become the victim of an assassin's bullet, Niki (Ali Larter) is unable to escape when the building she's in exploded, and Sylar (Zachary Quinto) has regained his abilities after using a cure procured by Mohinder (Sendhil Ramamurthy).  According to Arkush, this is precisely where the new season will kick off.

'Heroes' Milo Ventimiglia Stars in New Film 'Pathology'

April 18, 2008

For every Bruce Willis, there are a dozen David Carusos.  That transition from TV success to film stardom is the rarest of all Hollywood feats.  It's a tough pill to swallow, but there's some indistinguishable stigma that keeps TV stars from lighting the world on fire in the world of film.  But, that doesn't mean Hollywood hasn't stopped trying.  Nor should they.  I don't understand why Jennifer Aniston of Sarah Michelle Gellar never became big-ticket leading ladies on the big screen, and the same goes for a handful of other actors and actresses.  I bring this all up because Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia's first movie as a leading man was released today.  The film, entitled Pathology, is about pathology doctors who engage in a deadly, high-stakes murderous game.

'Heroes' Season 3 Adds More Characters

April 16, 2008

Milo Ventimiglia, Hayden Panettiere, Sendhil RamamurthyOne of the things that makes the Heroes story feel so epic is the fact that there are many characters spread out around the globe.  Lost may have made it cool to have an expansive, multi-ethnic cast, but Heroes put them all in different locations and gave them awesome superpowers.  However, many fans felt that the major flaw of season 2 was that there were too many new faces.  New additions like Maya, Alejandro, West, and Monica (Dana Davis) didn't go over well with audiences.  Despite the fan backlash against some of these characters, TV Guide's Michael Ausiello has announced that Heroes will be adding two new faces to season 3.

Will 'Heroes' Season 3 Have a New Narrator?

April 9, 2008

Sendhil RamamurthyOne of the weakest aspects of Heroes, at least in my mind, are the voiceovers that often open and close each episode of the series.  Actor Sendhil Ramamurthy certainly has a lovely voice, but the narration is often written to violently pound the episode's themes into our heads, as though we're too dense to figure them out ourselves.  Since I'm quite tired of listening to Mohinder drone on about evolution, I'm excited to report that someone else may be taking over the narrating duties when the show returns for its third season.  According to Michael Ausiello at TV Guide, creator Tim Kring is said to be seeking "an Australian Aboriginal actor in his fifties to appear in multiple episodes as a storyteller with great wisdom and a soft, soothing voice."

'Heroes' Returns while 'Origins' Dies

April 4, 2008

Jack ColemanIt was almost a year ago when it was announced that film director Kevin Smith would write and direct the first episode of Heroes: Origins.  The idea behind the six-episode spin-off was to allow big name creators the chance to play around in the Heroes universe.  Each episode would have introduced a new hero, and if any of them had been particularly popular they may have transitioned to the original series.  Despite the fact that directors such as Smith, Eli Roth, and Michael Dougherty were already signed on, NBC Entertainment co-chairman Ben Silverman recently announced that the idea has been scrapped.

While fans may never get to see Origins, they'll still have plenty of Heroes.  The show will return in July with new online webisodes, then return for its third season in September  with a two-hour movie that Silverman describes as "massive."
