On this episode, Owen recruits his fellow Iraqi War vet, Dr. Teddy Altman, as the new cardiothoracic surgeon, and right away, Cristina questions Teddy‘s abilities in the OR and the nature of their past relationship. Meanwhile Izzie returns to Seattle Grace with her high school mentor seeking treatment for his dementia, and the stress of Richard‘s responsibilities, post-merger, are taking their toll.

On this episode, Arizona is stunned when one of her patient‘s parents has a much too generous donation of twenty-five million dollars to spare, but when her patient‘s condition worsens, all eyes are on Arizona to fix it. Cristina is tired of Owen and begins to test her boundaries with him, and Alex is losing it with the disappearance of Izzie, not to mention the left-over hospital bills that he must contend with.

With their evil/negative portrayal on Grey‘s Anatomy (for starters, the title of the episode they debuted was "Invasion"), I‘m sure the orange scrubs-donning Mercy West people don‘t have a lot of fans. Yes, even Sarah Drew‘s self-proclaimed future of medicine April has gotten a lack of flak lately for slugging it off with Lexie (Chyler Leigh), in an episode when Mark (Eric Dane) was a no-show.
