Tonight‘s episode of Grey‘s Anatomy begins with an Alex voiceover. I guess Meredith got tired of talking to herself. Alex (Justin Chambers) looks in on Izzie, where she is fast asleep in her hospital room. Callie and Arizona are at Callie‘s place, “dancing it out.” In Cristina‘s bedroom, Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Owen are finally spending nights with each other, relaxing by watching videos of surgeries. Cristina falls asleep, so Owen turns the TV off and shuts off the lights. He dozes off, and the peppy, happy music stops, replaced by whooshing sounds of the overhead ceiling fan turning in slow motion. The screen goes dark and the next thing we know, Owen is choking Cristina. She struggles but can‘t free herself. Callie walks through the door to see if everything OK, and stops him. Callie (

I know, I know: I‘m cutting it close. There are only a few hours before tonight‘s episode of Grey‘s Anatomy, “Elevator Love Letter,” and I‘m only just now posting these preview videos. But better late than never, right?The Grey‘s Anatomy promos have been hyping tonight‘s episode a whole bunch, and with the dénouement of Izzie‘s cancer storyline quickly unfolding, I‘m pretty sure it‘s going to be a really intense one. But as the clips below show, another character has a very emotional and intense story to be told as well.

Look, people, I like to think that I am immune to grand romantic gestures. I was recently made to watch Twilight in its entirety while live blogging it with my coworkers, and the so-called romance between Bella and Edward went right over my head. (I was more interested in the mundane details of the Cullens‘ lives, like whether they move every four years so that the kid vampires can go to a new high school, or why Carlisle and Esme don‘t home-school the kids, or why Carlisle is a doctor, even. Do you need a profession if you are undead?)
