The TCA panel with CW president Dawn Ostroff was a bit like a firing squad. Between the loss of WWE Friday Night Smackdown and two of its urban comedies and the outsourcing of Sunday nights to Media Rights Capital, Ostroff had a lot to answer for.
In addition, Ostroff spoke about many of the dramatic upcoming changes for the network, including a possible very early start for next season, the strength of online content over traditional ratings for Gossip Girl, and she finally previewed the new horror reality series 13.

When we last we left the scandal-making guys and gals of Gossip Girl, the deliciously devious Georgina Sparks had successfully managed to throw the main cast members into a tailspin with her evil antics. In the aftermath, three couples broke up . . . and moved on to new partners, as is their way.
After a summer filled with no doubt eyebrow raising hookups and breakups, seems like many of the characters took a break to the Hamptons to relax on the beach, talk smack about others behind their backs, and wear fantastic clothing. The CW recently released some preview clips of the upcoming new season and already the show looks back in form.

The girls of Gossip Girl know where it’s at when it comes to fashion. You wouldn’t expect any less from the top of the rich social elite, especially from Blair Waldorf, daughter of the fictional fashion designer Eleanor Waldorf. Sporting preppy, sleek clothing, the girls of the Upper Eastside know how to make a style statement.
Real life designers have taken note. Fashion lines are scrambling to get their clothes onto the lovely loose-lipped ladies, as big labels on these soon-to-be big stars have started to earn clothing companies big bucks.

The rich and stylish cast of Gossip Girl would fit right in with the posh, haute couture world portrayed within the pages of Vanity Fair. It's only fitting, then, that the magazine that prides itself on being on the cutting edge of fashion and culture will have a feature on the Gossip Girl cast.
As part of their ‘Hollywood's New Wave of Stars' issue, Vanity Fair will feature Blake Lively on the cover along with Emma Roberts, Kristen Stewart and Amanda Seyfried (Big Love). Though Gossip Girl's Serena van der Woodsen may seem to be front and center because of this, Vanity Fair will be featuring the entire of TV's hottest young cast.

On Gossip Girl, 14-year-old actress Taylor Momsen portrays young Jenny Humphrey. The character grew up in a loft in Brooklyn making her own clothes, being anything but rich. All of last year Jenny tried to break into the world of socialites and fashion, only to give up after squaring off with the always on top and wealthy Blair Waldorf.
Taylor Momsen isn't going to go down as easy s her character. The actress has just signed a modeling contract with IMG Models, one of the leading agencies in the business. Seems like even if her alter-ego Jenny is resigned to her low rent fate, Taylor Momsen is ready to take the world of high fashion by storm.

Be on the alert, people! Cougars are a-prowl in the Upper East Side!
That's right! According to Entertainment Weekly, Madchen Amick will be making a splash next fall in the second season of Gossip Girl as a sexy cougar named Catherine Mason. She will be tempting young Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) with a May-December romance. How very Mrs. Robinson!

When I think of relevant, beloved, respected awards shows, the first ones that come to mind are the Oscars and the Emmys. The Teen Choice Awards probably wouldn't even land in the top 10 of such a list, but there's no denying that they cater perfectly to their audience. Unlike the MTV Movie Awards, which often make me gasp in horror at some of the nominees (Transformers for Best Movie? No.), the Teen Choice Awards often get things right, honoring an interesting mix of respectable fare and solid entertainment. The 10th annual special, hosted by Miley Cyrus, will air Monday, August 4 on FOX.
The nominees for the 2008 Teen Choice Awards were released today, and to no one's surprise the CW racked up a ton of nominations. Shows such as Smallville, Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill will be vying for top prizes. Read on for the complete list of nominees.

In Gossip Girl, creator Josh Schwartz fine-tuned his concept of the cool dad. Sandy Cohen may have been a wannabe singer, but Rufus Humphrey (Matthew Settle) is the real deal, an ex-rock star raising kids who are barely believable as his own. Schwartz went younger (Gallagher was 48 when The O.C. premiered, Settle was just 38 at the start of Gossip Girl, playing dad to 21-year-old Penn Badgley) and sexier (or at least with tamer eyebrows).
