Gene Simmons, star of A&E's Gene Simmons Family Jewels, is known for his unconventional views on life, particularly when it comes to marriage and family. While many parents are not reluctant to shower their children with much love and protection, Simmons makes it a point not to coddle his kids, Nick and Sophie, whose mother is his long-time partner and former Playboy Playmate, Shannon Tweed.
“The idea of negotiating with kids is lunacy. They're not qualified to make any decisions,” Simmons told TVGuide.ca. “In this permissive society, I see kids running into their rooms and slamming doors. I say, 'That's my door, and your room is my room. Even the poop you poop out comes from food I bought you. That's my poop!'”

Gene Simmons, known for co-founding the band Kiss and star of the reality series Gene Simmons Family Jewels, is not all about sex and rock and roll. In fact, he has a sensitive side, which he has channeled through a set of children's tales for a new animated DVD collection called SeaTales.
SeaTales, which is now out in the market, is a collection of popular fairy tales set in a vivid underwater world of fantasy. It consists of classic stories born from the minds of Robert Lewis Stevenson, Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde and Hans Christian Anderson to name a few.
