ABC's weird twist on Dancing With the Stars, Fast Cars and Superstars, has celebrities from all walks of life walking onto the speedway to be trained as race car drivers. The series has consistently delivered in the 6-9m viewer range since debuting. Unconventional scheduling has the show appearing three times a week on ABC's schedule; Tues, Thursday, and Sunday. That is asking for a huge time investment from reality TV fans, especially considering that Fast Cars and Superstars is an unproven commodity.

William Shatner, famed for television shows like Boston Legal and Star Trek, considers himself as someone who takes delight in cruising the highway with his sports car. Given his fervor for the road, he has decided to participate on ABC’s new celebrity reality show, Fast Cars and Superstars.
Fast Cars and Superstars, which premieres tonight, June 7 at 8 pm ET, features Shatner as one of the 12 celebrity contestants who will train under NASCAR's Gillette Young Guns.

On Thursday, June 7 at 8/7 C, ABC will rev up the summer by brining in a new reality series called Fast Cars & Superstars. Slated for six half-hour episodes followed by a one-hour finale, the show features celebrities in a stock car auto racing competition.
Fast Cars and Superstars will feature 12 celebrities from the entertainment, sports and music industry, behind the wheel while under the watchful eyes of six of NASCAR’s Nextel Cup Series drivers, the Gillette Young Guns.
