If you like your animated comedy shows, you better be home tonight, or at least have your TiVo ready.
Four shows are opening their seasons tonight, including the unprecedented 20th run of The Simpsons, King of the Hill, and American Dad. But the most highly anticipated premiere, if observers are to be believed, is Family Guy, which is opening its sixth season with an episode curiously called “Love Blacktually.” Family Guy airs at 9pm on Fox. Details of the episode are behind the cut so if you don't want spoilers, don't click.

Some pretty interesting details were already revealed regarding the Family Guy spin-off The Cleveland Show. Apart from the first set of castmembers that includes the likes of Sanna Lathan, Nia Long, Kevin Michael Richardson, what particularly caught people's attention is the bear family that will occupy the house next to the Browns'.
In a recent interview, creator and Cleveland's voice Mike Henry talked about about the highly anticipated bears. Of course, it won't be the first time the Family Guy franchise would feature talking animals. Bryan, the Griffin family dog, talks, and then there's Stewie, who is not an animal but is a crazy, British-sounding toddler who aspires for world domination.

Thirty-four-year-old Seth MacFarlane will start being a certified “multimedia mogul” tomorrow as his short cartoons start making their way through Google to a variety of sites tomorrow. Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy, a venture between MacFarlane and Google, is seen to change the way entertainment is distributed online, according to critics.
The Family Guy creator is the first producer to take advantage of Google's astronomic reach. A new Cavalcade clip will run each week for 50 weeks, with Google delivering Cavalcade clips to pages visited primarily by 18- to 34-year-old men. With the exception of NFL football and American Idol, Family Guy outperformed every show among young men last season, according to Nielsen Media Research. Even visitors of Fandango.com and men's magazine Maxim.com can expect to see one of these clips occupying spots formerly occupied by mere static ads.

After spawning a spin-off in the form of The Cleveland Show and web-toons with Google and Burger King, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane revealed that a Family Guy feature may be not be far behind. Yes the dysfunctional family, Brian, Lois, Peter, Chris, Meg, and, of course, evil baby Stewie, may just be coming on the big screen as funny man MacFarlane promises to start working on the script soon so they can start shooting within the year.
MacFarlane admits to TV Week that the wheels for a Family Guy film is starting to turn.

Previously, we reported that the FOX animated series Family Guy spawned a spin-off for one of its characters in the person of the soft-spoken Griffin family neighbor Cleveland Brown. The Cleveland Show will debut in 2009 and will introduce, well, the Cleveland family and their neighbors. It was likewise reported that the ensemble for the new show will include Sanna Lathan, Nia Long, Kevin Michael Richardson, and, of course, Mike Henry, who lends Cleveland his voice.
As it will feature the same people behind Family Guy, people expect the same caliber of writing and all in all great things from The Cleveland Show. Henry, for his part, shares some insights on the show. For one, he said the similarities between the two shows will end with how the two look, with character design, the animations, and the devices used by Family Guy, such as flashbacks and cutaways. Everything else, he cautioned, will be different. So don't expect Peter Griffin to pop up every now and then.

Funny man and responsible for the animated series Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane first collaborated with Internet giant Google for Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy, an Internet show syndicated through Google AdSense. Each episode will run for only two minutes and MacFarlane gets a cut off the revenue generated, so it shouldn't be all that bad for him.
To expand this venture, however, MacFarlane now decides he wants to do all the ads himself. And since Burger King remains to be the chief advertiser, it probably won't be long until we see Peter eating from the food joint, in a series of animated ads. Of course, everyone was reminded of Homer Simpson eating Butterfingers, and people aren't so sure if Family Guy will enjoy the same success.

Network: FOX
Premiere: Sunday, September 28, 8-10pm
Premise: Once again, FOX leaves its Sunday nights alone, using its two-hour animation block to win over younger audiences. Wisely, the network has avoided scheduling any non-animated shows here, as they typically fail (see: The Loop, Unhitched, The Winner, The War at Home).
