Eli Stone: Preview of Episode 2.11 "Mortal Combat"

June 26, 2009

On tonight's episode of Eli Stone - the second since its return last week and the third before it finally bids goodbye for good - we encounter the case of the news anchor that's been removed from his job.  Either he was fired or resigned, there appears to be something more to the case, and both sides are determined to go to court and not settle.

Also, after sleeping with Maggie (Julie Gonzalo), Eli (Jonny Lee Miller) faces off against her in their latest trial, only to realize that she has become quite a formidable attorney.  Meanwhile, Matt (Sam Jaeger) tries to assist his former firm - which ultimately leads to a profound decision on his part.

ABC Cancels 'Pushing Daisies,' 'Dirty Sexy Money' and 'Eli Stone'

November 20, 2008

Pushing Daisies has been canceled.  Dirty Sexy Money has been canceled.  Eli Stone has been canceled.  ABC isn't using that dreaded c-word in its statements today, but it matters not.  You can't argue your way out of reality, and semantics only serve to soften the blow.  The producers on all three of those shows were informed today that ABC would not be picking up the second halves of their respective seasons, and that they have no intention of ever ordering new episodes.  This is the harsh reality of the television business, but it is little solace to the fans, rabid as they were, for each of these three shows.  That shows like Two and a Half Men and CSI: Miami can thrive while the likes of Pushing Daisies are largely ignored is at once unfathomable and depressing.

'Law and Order' Alum Joins 'Eli Stone'

November 11, 2008

After the much-hyped about appearance of Mrs. Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Eli Stone welcomes Jamey Sheridan on the show.  Sheridan played Captain Deakins on Law and Order: Criminal Intent for more than five seasons and was also on Chicago Hope.

Sheridan will play an evening news anchor on Eli Stone, who is "banished" to 5 am Siberia when his reporting starts raising the hackles of network advertisers.   When he gets sacked eventually, Eli and the gang must navigate around the sticky wicket of an incriminating email in which Sheridan's character effectively quit, thus voiding his lucrative, multi-year contract.  Of course, there should be something more to it than meets the eye.

'Shark' Actress To Guest Star on 'Eli Stone'

November 4, 2008

Another guest star has been added to Eli Stone's star-studded sophomore season.  Most recently, Shark's Danielle Panabaker has signed on to join the cast of the ABC surrealistic drama about an attorney who is discovered to have a brain aneurysm that causes hallucinations or, as Dr. Chen suggests, divinely inspired visions of the future.

Not much has been revealed about Panabaker's role on Eli Stone though Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello reports that her involvement on the show is quite big.  Fans will just have to stay tuned for more updates.
