Fans probably saw this coming from the moment the show was first announced, but today FOX made it official and canceled Dollhouse. Joss Whedon‘s scii-fi drama surprised many by even getting renewed for a second season, but that was short-lived.

Days before the latest episode of Dollhouse aired, critics were already saying that it was the series‘ best yet. A bittersweet thing, really: it‘s the last episode before Fox sits the endangered show out for the whole of next month, adding more fuel to the is-it-canceled? fire that‘s been brewing for the past couple of months now.

Well, let‘s face it--while we‘re all hoping that Dollhouse survives this again, it seems this could be very much it. Benched for the whole of November, cancellation looming again--might as well make the most of it.

It‘s good to hear we‘re still hanging on.Dollhouse‘s future is back on the hot seat again, after ratings reached a series low a few weeks back. But, again, it‘s the magic of the DVR that‘s saving the show, and now Fox executives are promising that they‘ll air all 13 episodes of the show.

Possibly the biggest story on the Dollhouse casting front this season is Summer Glau joining the cast for a handful of episodes. We know she‘s appearing as a programmer at another Dollhouse, much like Topher is in Los Angeles. We even speculated that she might be Topher‘s love interest. Well, I don‘t really know about that now.

So, Paul and Echo, what will you both do?That last scene from last week‘s Dollhouse hinted a little more. They‘re gonna work together and all that. But it seems both of them are short circuits waiting to happen, both in different ways--it remains to be seen how exactly they‘ll work things out. Or whether they‘ll make it.
