The Doctor Who reboot on the Sci-Fi channel wraps up its fourth season tonight at 7:30pm and, if spoilers are to be believed, this finale entitled Journey's End does a good job of bringing closure not just to this season but to the past three as well (as some described it, seasons 1 to 4 is one gigantic season).
In Journey's End, the Daleks are able to activate their master plan, which, of course, endangers the rest of the universe. The only thing that can prevent such from happening is if the Doctor's secret army of companions join the battle. There's a catch: a prophecy says one of them will die. Now the question is who.

Just as time is the medium of choice for David Tennant's character as the Time Lord in BBC/SCI FI's Doctor Who, a vision of the adventure-filled series' future has prompted current executive producer/head writer Russell T. Davies to announce he is passing on the torch. Come 2010, when Doctor Who leaps into its fifth season, Steven Moffat will step in to run the show.
Davies, credited as the force that effectively resuscitated and revived the sci-fi series in 2005, has decided to step down after 2009, in what he's suggested is in the best interest of the show.

Doctor Who fans will get a double treat this spring: not only is the SCI-FI Channel premiering the fourth season of the long-running sci-fi dramedy, but launching its new spin-off, The Sarah Jane Adventures, as well.
Come April, David Tennant will once again give life to the tenth timelord of Doctor Who, but this time, with a new companion. Comedienne-actress Catherine Tate will reprise her role as Donna Noble, the runaway bride from the previous season's Christmas episode. The doctor's former companion, Martha Jones, played by Freema Agyeman, will return in the middle of the season.

Fans of Doctor Who's spin-off series, Torchwood, should tune in tonight, as not only is the second season premiering, it will also feature Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum James Marsters as a guest star.
The second season opener is called “Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang,” in which Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) returns from a mysterious absence, leaving the team with plenty of questions. However, they prioritize the task at hand, which is the arrival of Jack's old partner, Captain John Hart (Marsters), whose agenda is unclear.

Last week's episode of Doctor Who ended with companion Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) using the Manipulator to teleport to Earth, leaving the Doctor (David Tennant), who was artificially aged 100 years, Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) and her family at the hands of the Master (John Simm) and his wife, Lucy (Alexandra Moen) as they gain dominion over Earth.
Tonight, the battle continues in the exciting and action-packed season three finale of Doctor Who. The episode, entitled “The Last of the Time Lords,” will show the Master's supreme rule over the world, while the Doctor is rendered helpless as his prisoner. The entire human race has been turned into slaves as the mighty warship of the new Time Lord Empire rises from the ashes. It is up to Martha to carry out the Doctor's plans and save the world.

In July, BBC announced that Catherine Tate, who served as a temporary companion to David Tennant when Billie Piper left Doctor Who, would be returning to the show as a regular come the fourth season. At the time, the 39-year-old actress expressed her delight for having been asked to return, but she now admits that she was actually stunned by the invitation.
"When I was asked to do it, I genuinely couldn't believe they'd asked me,” Tate told the official Doctor Who magazine. “I was having lunch with [executive producer] Julie Gardner and it was the last thing I thought we were going to have a conversation about. She said it, and I nearly ... well, I ... even now, I just can't believe it. I'm speechless."

Human/Dalek Hybrids? Get out of town. The Doctor Who two-parter “Evolution of the Daleks” proved that even beings free from time and space sometimes inspires the most ridiculous TV writing. “Evolution of the Daleks” may have been a hoot for Doctor Who newbies, but it was a drag for aficionados.
The Human Dalek Sec is planning a human/dalek hybridization so that Daleks can become bipedal and be freed from their metal shells. Doesn’t fit with what you know about the Dalek mindset? Congrats, you’re not a newbie.
