While fishing may be a fun, outdoor activity for the whole family, others see it as a hard way of living life. Fishing for a living isn't as easy as it sounds, and the Discovery Channel has already placed the spotlight in the captains and crews who have lived their lives by the grueling seas in search of fish. Deadliest Catch, the three-part miniseries which documented the struggles of the Alaskan crab fishermen, followed the fishermen aboard six fishing ships in the Bering Sea during the Alaskan king crab and Opilio crab fishing seasons.
The Discovery Channel is at it again, serving us up with another fresh catch for the season. This time, we're going behind the scenes into the lives of the fishermen who endure one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.

American Chopper and Deadliest Catch, two of Discovery Communications' highest-rated series, is about to enter into syndication, marking the company's first venture into syndication.
According to TV Week, Discovery hired Debmar-Mercury, a company run by Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein that has a history of distributing off-cable series like Comedy Central's South Park, to sell the two reality shows to local stations. Both American Chopper and Deadliest Catch will be aired as weekend shows on a barter basis, with each of the stations and Discovery getting seven minutes of ad time per hour.

After the success of the three-part miniseries called America's Deadliest Season, creator Thom Beers brings in a show called Deadliest Catch. It is series that features the wild and treacherous life of the Alaskan crab fishermen. Following a documentary-style structure, the show documents the events onboard six fishing ships in the Bering Sea during the Alaskan king crab and Opilio crab fishing seasons.
