Dawson’s Creek follows the lives of five sophomore high school friends in the fictional coastal town of Capeside, Massachusetts. Dawson Leery, Joey Potter, Pacey Witter, Jack McPhee and Jen Lindley all have their own varied backgrounds and personal struggles but go through their transition from adolescence to young adulthood together. Childhood best friends Dawson and Joey contend with the difficulties of moving from friendship to romance, with the added complication later on, of Pacey’s own feelings for Joey. Jack grapples with his own inner turmoil of being true to himself and the rest of the world. Jen deals with the conflict between her desire to have a relationship and her pessimism towards potential suitors. All five learn to find their own paths while still remaining close to one another. Dawson's Creek aired on the WB.
