As the 8pm premiere of Dancing with the Stars inches closer and closer, Access Hollywood reports that now the infamous dumpee from The Bachelor, Melissa Rycroft, will replace Access Hollywood host Nancy O‘Dell, who had to leave Dancing with the Stars because of injuries.  Country singer Jewel also reportedly made an early exit from Dancing with the Stars due to injuries and will allegedly be replaced by The Girls Next Door star Holly Madison. ABC has yet to confirm the news, saying that an official announcement will be made on the show‘s premiere tonight.  O‘Dell suffered a twist to her right knee during rehearsals and has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus, while Jewel has suffered fractured tibiae in both legs. Read more »

Editor‘s Note: This is a weekly guest post from the TV staff at Film.com. Check back here on Wednesdays for more Film.com stories about your favorite shows: Big Brother, The Amazing Race, Dancing with the Stars, Survivor, American Idol and America‘s Next Top Model.By Susan Young, Film.comNot to go all X-Files and Watergate, but I believe I’ve uncovered one of the great contemporary conspiracies in our troubled times: ABC orchestrated the whole Bachelor blowup just to get some extra punch in their new season of Dancing with the Stars. Before you shut the door in my face, consider the fact that ratings for all series are down and the networks are battling for their lives. Read more »
It seems that Melissa Rycroft has found closure amidst The Bachelor fiasco that has recently plagued the media.  Love searcher Jason Mesnick proposed to Rycroft during The Bachelor finale but was later dumped for runner-up Molly Malaney on national TV. During The Bachelor: After the Final Rose, Melissa felt backstabbed and called Jason a “bastard” after learning that he was still in love with Molly, even though he had repeatedly told her that Molly wasn‘t the reason for their breakup.  Subsequently, Jason endured plenty of lashing and mocking from fans of The Bachelor.  On the other hand, he spent last week expressing his regret over the public display of rejection. Read more »
Love rumors are unavoidable especially when two people spend a lot of time together just like celebrity participants and their professional dance partners on Dancing with the Stars. While recently added castmember Holly Madison, who replaced country singer Jewel and is now paired with Dmitry Chaplin, acknowledges the fact that gossip is inevitable, she insists that romance is far from her mind these days. “I don‘t think anyone would bother starting romance rumors about me.  I am all business,” said Madison, who recently split with Mindfreak illusionist Criss Angel after four months of dating.  “I don‘t want any romance in my life right now.  I could never find a guy who will live up to my expectations.” Read more »

Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and Kendra Wilkinson may have wrapped up their stint on The Girls Next Door but that doesn‘t mean that their friendship has already expired.  According to People, the girls are all out in giving their support to Holly as she attempts to win the crowd on Dancing with the Stars.  But that‘s not all. Playboy founder Hugh Hefner also proves that there are no hard feelings between him and his former number 1 girlfriend Holly as he was actually the one who informed Holly that she had been selected to replace the injured Jewel on the ABC hit series.“I called her and gave her the news on Monday,” Hefner told People at the launch of Bridget Marquardt‘s new show, Bridget‘s Sexiest Beaches, on the Travel Channel.  “She had a week to prepare, less then a week.” Read more »
It‘s an understatement to say that the premiere of Dancing with the Stars was a success, reeling in a record 22.5 million viewers.  Critics attributed the good ratings to the colorful mix of celebrities participating in this season‘s affairs, which include the likes of belated subs The Girls Next Door‘s Holly Madison, The Bachelor‘s Melissa Rycroft, singer Lil‘ Kim, prankster Steve-O, hunk Gilles Marini, computer mogul Steve Wozniak, and Denise Richards.Speaking of Richards, despite a relatively good showing on the premiere, the reality show star is reportedly earning the ire of the Dancing with the Stars staff early on for being “insecure” and “demanding” and being someone who “complains about everything.” Read more »
It seems that season 8 of Dancing with the Stars has a string of bad luck attached to it as injury has just claimed two more victims.  Steve-O, the 34-year-old Jackass prankster, is now suffering from a painful back injury, which is believed to be related to his recent salsa rehearsals. Wozniak has been dancing on a fractured foot for two weeks. This marks the fourth and fifth injuries the show has claimed this season. Country singer Jewel was the first reported casualty after being diagnosed with a fractured tibia in both legs, followed by Gilles Marini, who has been diagnosed with tendonitis in his groin and shoulder, and Nancy O‘Dell, who will need surgery on torn knee cartilage.  Jewel and O‘Dell withdrew from the competition but Marini decided to stick around. Read more »
Taking into account some recent developments, it looks like Melissa Rycroft‘s now infamous dumping on the latest season of The Bachelor was a huge blessing in disguise after all.  Not only did she get unprecedented support from people about the incident (while Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney were portrayed as backstabbing villains), she landed a belated spot on yet another ABC show Dancing with the Stars, and, judging from the ratings, helped make the transition on ABC‘s Monday night lineup as fluid and successful as possible. As if that weren‘t enough, Us Weekly reports that Melissa hasn‘t exactly been pining over Jason weeks after the televised dumping.  Melissa revealed that she has been dating long-time friend and insurance agent Ty. She first mentioned Ty, which ironically is also the name of Jason‘s four-year-old son, on a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Read more »

The decision behind rapper Lil‘ Kim‘s decision to join Dancing with the Stars was already rife with speculations, but now that news has come out that the celebrity partner of Derek Hough owes the tax man nearly a million dollars worth of back taxes, for gossipers, the pieces of the puzzle are coming together.According to published reports, records show that Lil‘ Kim owes $979,000 in state and federal tax liens in California, New York, and New Jersey, in relation still to the tax problems she had in 2004.  The figure includes $833,000 worth of liens filed by the IRS in New Jersey, and the remaining tax debt includes a $4,089 lien filed by the state of California, $129,410 worth of liens filed by the state of New Jersey and a $12,599 tax warrant filed by the state of New York.  The rapper also missed payment on her Bentley automobile and was sued by Simon & Schuster, Inc.The rapper‘s spokeswoman Lisa Perkins says that Lil‘ Kim is working to pay off the debt.Dancing the cha cha cha, Lil‘ Kim and Derek Hough scored a respectable 21 out of 30 on the last episode of Dancing with the Stars. Read more »
As mentioned in previously, Steve-O didn‘t make it to Monday night‘s live taping of Dancing with the Stars due to a back injury.  His professional dance partner Lacey Schwimmer went solo and even told the audience that her partner‘s injury looked "pretty bad."  After missing this week‘s episode, the Jackass prankster has decided to address the issue, pinning “poor judgment” as a factor in the accident.  He also claims that he‘s learned his lesson and is now being cautious with his actions, especially since he hopes to stay in the Dancing competition. Read more »
As BuddyTV reported previously, the entire cast of The Girls Next Door has Holly Madison‘s back.  But among all her former co-stars, Kendra Wilkinson has been the most outspoken and encouraging about Madison‘s stint on Dancing with the Stars. “Holly did so amazing on DWTS last night!  I didn‘t know she could work it like that on the dance floor, and she looked SMOKIN in that purple dress,” Wilkinson wrote of her former Girls Next Door costar in a blog post dated March 17. Read more »
It‘s the first elimination of the season on Dancing with the Stars.  For the first time in the show‘s history, the bottom two will have to dance off against one another to determine who will stay and who will have to hang up their dancing shoes.Who‘s it gonna be?  Will Steve and Karina somehow miraculously stay on?  Will fan favorites Melissa and Tony be in danger of going home?  We‘ll find out soon enough, and we‘ll also be entertained by musical performances by Jewel and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.  Whatever happens, you‘ll find it all right here in my live blog.  Stay with me! Read more »
Despite Steve-O‘s determination to jump back into the Dancing with the Stars competition, it seems that the Jackass prankster won‘t be hitting the dance floor anytime soon.  According to his professional dance partner Lacey Schwimmer, he hasn‘t fully recovered from his back injury and is now dealing with internal bleeding.Steve-O missed Monday night‘s live taping of Dancing with the Stars since he was rushed to the hospital after he landed on his microphone pack after a spill.  Prior to the back injury he sustained this week, he had already hurt his back in a separate incident last week. Read more »

It‘s no news that American Idol has had a strangle-hold on the ratings week in and week out for quite some time now.  In fact, it had been that way for five, six seasons already.  From a humble 9.9 million back in season one when Kelly Clarkson won, Idol‘s numbers have ballooned to over 30 mil from the fourth season onwards.  Recently, however, ABC‘s very own competitive reality show Dancing with the Stars had been giving American Idol some rare competition as it gets closer to overtaking the Fox golden boy in the weekly ratings.According to Entertainment Weekly, Dancing with the Stars, which recently got a boost courtesy of a strong The Bachelor finale and Melissa Rycroft‘s transition, is just around 3 million viewers shy of going past Idol – something that that wasn‘t even remotely imaginable in the past couple of years. Idol‘s 25.8 and 25.5 million for its performance and results shows take the first two spots respectively while Dancing with the Stars reeled in a record 22.8 million eyeballs for third.  After CSI‘s 17.1 million, the rest trail heavily: Desperate Housewives with 14.6, Criminal Minds and The Mentalist with 14.3, CSI: Miami with 14.2, and Grey‘s Anatomy with 13.6 million viewers. Read more »
After doing reasonably well on the last episode, Gilles Marini of the Sex and the City movie recently told TV Guide that he was surprised that he‘s one of the favorites to win Dancing with the Stars.  According to the 33-year-old French actor, he thought he would be somewhere in the bottom mainly because he‘s not American.  Soon, however, he said he hoped he can tell his story on the ABC reality show.“Just because people do not understand why I‘m on the show because I‘ve never said it yet,” he said.  “It‘s pretty much paying respect because the country gave me so much.  If I can put a smile on Americans‘ faces, then it‘s a little way of paying back.  Down the line, I‘ll tell the story why I‘m in love with this country and why I wanna be here the rest of my life.”As for the other contestants, Gilles singled out The Bachelor alum Melissa Rycroft as another front-runner because of her dancing background.“She‘s a dancer.  She‘s an amazing person.   Beautiful. My brother said, ‘Help me. I‘m dying for this woman.‘  He didn‘t talk about me!  So if my brother feels this way, I know America feels the same way.”Marini‘s partner is two-time Dancing with the Stars champion Cheryl Burke. Read more »
The eighth season of Dancing with the Stars continues tonight with another two-hour performance show.Last week, singer Belinda Carlisle and her professional partner Jonathan Roberts earned eternal ignominy in becoming the first couple to be eliminated from the competition.  But let‘s focus on the 12 remaining couples who still have a shot at winning Dancing with the Stars.  Will Steve and Karina step up their game and come out on stage with guns blazing?  Will Steve-O be able to dance despite his back injuries?Whatever happens, you‘ll find it all right here in my live blog. Read more »
Dancing with the Stars continues tonight with another results show! After last night‘s performances, many of the couples have begun to differentiate themselves from the rest of the pack.  There are a triad of stars who have definitively taken the lead, and I think we all know which three I‘m talking about.  Unfortunately, at the other end of the spectrum, there are some stars at the very bottom who prayed for votes last night to keep them alive.Well, the judges have awarded the scores, and America has voted, and tonight, we‘ll find out which two couples got the lowest combined score and must dance again in the dance-off. Read more »
Now that Kendra Wilkinson, Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison have bid farewell to the reality series The Girls Next Door, the girls are busy doing their own thing. Bridget has a new Travel Channel series called Bridget‘s Sexiest Beaches, Kendra is busy planning her wedding to Philadelphia Eagles receiver Hank Baskett, as well as her spin-off series Kendra, while Holly is focusing on Dancing with the Stars.  It‘s difficult to bring them all together at this point but there‘s a way to catch at least two of the girls simultaneously in one movie. Next month, Holly and Bridget will be scaring viewers with a darkly comic and sexy horror film called The Telling. They‘ll be leading the project as the characters Stephanie and Eva DeMarco respectively.  The anthology feature, which will be released on DVD on April 14, is about three girls who pledge a sorority, which consists of the most beautiful and meanest girls on campus.  For their final task, however, they must tell the most horrifying story they know. Read more »
Last night, Denise Richards and Maksim Chmerkovskiy became the second pair of casualties in season 8 of Dancing with the Stars, one week after Belinda Carlisle and Jonathan Roberts got booted off. Somehow, though, I‘m sadder about Belinda leaving than about Denise. At the risk of sounding heartless and mean – but let‘s face it, nobody has ever accused me of having too much compassion – I‘m SO glad Denise Richards is gonzo! She barely registered a blip in my brain these past three weeks. As BuddyTV‘s official Dancing with the Stars recapper, I should probably be able to rattle off the names and occupations of all 13 stars who began the competition. But without fail, I‘d be able to list about 10 before having to hunt through the Interwebs to remember the names of the last two. Denise was always one who slipped my mind like this. (David Alan Grier is the other, which doesn‘t bode well for him and Kym Johnson in the coming weeks of competition. They better step up their game.) Read more »
Gossip and drama surface on almost every TV show and Dancing with the Stars is no exception. This season, the controversy ignited when professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who was most recently eliminated with celebrity  partner contestant Denise Richards, shared his sentiments on some of the contestants of the ABC hit series. When TV Guide asked Maksim what he thought of fellow co-stars Holly Madison and Melissa Rycroft, he said, “Do I have to answer that?  It‘s very hard for me because Tony [Dovolani] is my best friend, but if we‘re gonna call it what it is, it‘s very unfair because Melissa‘s a dancer — she was a cheerleader and did ballet.  That‘s what I would love to end.  Holly — I thought she did a good job with no time to prepare. She looks very confident.” Read more »

Denise Richards, the second celebrity contestant who was sent home on Dancing with the Stars after Belinda Carlisle, remains puzzled about her elimination especially since she and professional dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy won Monday‘s live Dance Off against Girls Next Door star Holly Madison and partner Dmitry Chaplin."After doing the Dance Off - which I don‘t understand the whole thing, how that works - I thought after that and the response from the judges and the audience that I had a shot at staying," Richards said during a Tuesday night Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance that followed her Dancing with the Stars elimination.  "I really didn‘t think I was going." Read more »

Other than the sterling ratings, this season of Dancing with the Stars may have already set an unofficial record early on for the most injuries incurred by the stars.  In fact, even before the premiere, two of the celebrities had to back out because of rehearsal injuries – country singer Jewel, who fractured both her tibias, and Access Hollywood host Nancy O‘Dell, who tore her meniscus.  As the competition ensues, we saw more injuries, with prankster Steve-O during dress rehearsal and Apple exec Steve Wozniak pulling a hamstring. So what‘s with all the injuries?  According to Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba, the stars‘ professional partners may be to blame as they try to push their celebrity partners to their limits mainly due to the more intense level of competition.Read the Dancing with the Stars 8: Top 11 Performance Live Thoughts here. Read more »

Melissa Rycroft is certainly one hot commodity.  After being dumped by Jason Mesnick on The Bachelor, the former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader has become an instant celebrity overnight with numerous offers trailing her wherever she goes.  And it seems that Dancing with the Stars isn’t the only one interested in the former bachelorette. According to Star magazine, Playboy editor Hugh Hefner, who also stars on The Girls Next Door, has offered Rycroft $500,000 to appear nude in the infamous men‘s publication. Read more »

Public sympathy plus her natural dancing ability have quickly turned Melissa Rycroft into an instant celebrity.  As mentioned previously, the former Bachelor contestant turned Dancing with the Stars participant, has reportedly been offered $500,000 to pose nude in Playboy.  But that’s not all.  As someone who is pulled from anonymity and catapulted immediately into the national media spotlight, Rycroft has become a favorite, not just by ordinary fans but other celebrities as well.In the past several weeks, the Dancing with the Stars front-runner has been literally embraced by everyone from waitresses to American Idol’s Randy Jackson. Read more »
Dancing with the Stars’ Cheryl Burke has endured some nasty comments over the past few months and it has nothing to do with her dancing ability.  The 24-year-old professional dancer has become the subject of tabloids, evidently for the change in her weight after gaining a few extra pounds.  The criticism has certainly taken an emotional toll on Burke so her dance partner, Gilles Marini, has decided to speak in her defense. "If women look like her, that would be the perfect world. She doesn‘t need to change anything.  Who likes stick-skinny girls? Where‘s the flavor? Whoever likes those stick-skinny girls never had sex before in their life," Gilles told E! News, giving fans more reason to admire the Dancing with the Stars frontrunner. Read more »
Holly Madison may have only lasted four weeks on Dancing with the Stars but she still had the time of her life.  Just like Denise Richards, the second eliminated contestant on the ABC hit series, the former Girls Next Door star hoped that she could linger on the competition but, as luck would have it, she and professional dance partner Dmitry Chaplin found themselves in the bottom twice. It also didn’t help that she sustained some injuries."I always wanted to do the show so I took the opportunity. I had so much fun doing it," Madison said during a Tuesday night Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance that followed her Dancing with the Stars elimination. "I think this is the most dramatic season of Dancing with the Stars ever. It was an amazing cast." Read more »

Read the Latest News, Recaps and More on Dancing with the Stars Season 8It‘s beginning to seem like ABC is untouchable on Monday nights. After enjoying a season of record-high ratings for The Bachelor, the network transitioned seamlessly into a new season of Dancing with the Stars, without slowing down. It doesn‘t hurt that fan favorite bachelorette Melissa Rycroft has joined the Dancing cast at the last minute, and wowed everyone with a waltz that she learned in just two days.I admit, I was skeptical about this season of Dancing with the Stars before it started. I was, like, “Who are these people?” I didn‘t think I would care about, say, Gilles Marini or Steve-O. I adore Julianne Hough, but I think she‘s getting a little bit over-exposed these days, and competing on the show with her boyfriend Chuck Wicks makes me suspicious of them, for some reason. Read more »
Dancing with the Stars is arguably the only reality show on television that can boast such a wide-ranging and diverse cast. No other reality show features contestants from all sorts of backgrounds, shapes and sizes. It might just be me, but I think that it‘s well nigh impossible to tell one Bachelor contestant from another. And don‘t get me started on America‘s Next Top Model! Each successive cast of America‘s Next Top Model has been getting more and more homogeneous as Tyra Banks keeps getting crazier and crazier. Plus, there‘s always some chick who doesn‘t want to be a “pretty girl” and a brunette who feels more confident after the makeover stylist bleaches the heck out of her hair.Oh yeah, and then there are those trashier competition reality shows like Flavor of Love or Rock of Love. The most recent season of Flavor of Love, for example, featured two contestants whose names were Thing 1 and Thing 2. (I think one of the Things won, although I couldn‘t tell you which one.) Clearly, their names suggest that they could easily have been replaced by any other fame whore. And every single person vying for Bret Michaels‘ love on Rock of Love is some kind of stripper or stripper-wannabe with a huge fake rack. Read more »

Last night‘s Dancing with the Stars performance show was all about romance and machismo. The couples performed either the Viennese waltz, the epitome of romance and elegance, or the paso doble, the fierce bullfighter‘s dance. You couldn‘t possibly get two more distinct dance styles, but then again, you probably couldn‘t get a more diverse cast of couples either. On the one side, you‘ve got a French actor named Gilles Marini who is undoubtedly a talented dancer and a handsome man, but before this season of Dancing with the Stars, I hadn‘t the faintest clue who he was. To be honest, I‘m still not sure I‘d be able to pick him out of the lineup if he weren‘t wearing glitter and sequins. Read more »

In a semi-shocking upset, comedian David Alan Grier and his partner Kym Johnson were the fifth couple to be eliminated from Dancing with the Stars last night.David Alan Grier, or DAG as he is sometimes affectionately known, did not do terribly poorly on Monday night‘s performance show. He and Kym danced a very competent Viennese waltz that landed them solidly in the middle of the pack, with three couples below them on the judges‘ leaderboard. Julianne Hough may not turn out to be the front-runner of Dancing with the Stars season 8 but, at least, her country singing career is already off to a great start.  Her self-titled album has been out for nearly a year now, and her songs like “That Song In My Head” and “My Hallelujah Song” have quickly become country hits.  Most recently, the 20-year-old singer won the award for Top New Artist at the American Country Music Awards. This year, fans were given the chance to vote for the Top New Artists’ awards.  Hough was voted as the Top New Female Vocalist, and had to contend with the Top New Male Vocalist, Jake Owen, and the Top New Duo, the Zack Brown Band, for the grand award of Top New Artist. Read more »
Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner, who’s turning 83 today, already celebrated his birthday in advance with a pool party at the Palms Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. This marks Hefner and Madison’s first reunion following their split last year.  Madison revealed that she and Hefner are no longer together last October, putting an end to weeks of speculations about the real scope of their downhill relationship.  She moved on into the arms of illusionist Criss Angel but the couple broke up after only four months of dating. Madison was last seen on the small screen as she graced the dance floor of Dancing with the Stars, where she became the third eliminated contestant. Read more »

After spending five years in the Playboy mansion as Hugh Hefner’s number girlfriend and after flaunting her stuff on the dance floor of Dancing with the Stars, you’d think that Holly Madison has already had enough of the reality arena.  But the 29-year-old starlet isn’t ready to say goodbye to the cameras just yet because now she’s working on her very own TV program.  Read more »
Remember how I speculated earlier in the week that the most recent Dancing with the Stars reject David Alan Grier got eliminated because he couldn’t connect with the audience? We could never tell whether he was really angry or if he was being sarcastic, so we never quite knew how to respond to him, a problem that Kym Johnson had immediately upon meeting him. Well, his undeserved elimination pretty much made the good behavior filter that kept him from saying what’s really on his mind vanish into thin air.In an interview with Access Hollywood, David Alan Grier unleashed his wrath upon the whole Dancing with the Stars enterprise. He spewed vitriol toward all the judges, but in particular to his former In Living Color castmate Carrie Ann Inaba. Read more »

Having impressed viewers and the judges of Dancing with the Stars with her rendition of the waltz, salsa and foxtrot, Shawn Johnson has already proved that she has what it takes to linger on the competition as the youngest competitor in the history of the show.  While the 17-year-old Olympic gymnast remains a force to be reckoned with, she’ll be struggling with her greatest fear thus far on tonight’s Dancing with the Stars. “Our next dance is the rumba,” Johnson told TV Guide. “And I don‘t know anything except that it‘s the most romantic and sensual dance, and I‘m only 17 so I‘m scared to death!” Read more »

Since the beginning of this season of Dancing with the Stars, it seemed all but guaranteed that Gilles Marini, Melissa Rycroft and Shawn Johnson would comprise the final three, in some kind of order or another. However, the last couple of performances has shown that Lil‘ Kim shouldn‘t be ignored as a possible contender as the next winner of Dancing with the Stars.Last night, Lil‘ Kim and Derek Hough performed an energetic jive to the tune of Elvis Presley‘s "Jailhouse Rock." Derek played the part of the convict, while Lil‘ Kim was the sexy prison guard hired to keep him in his place. It probably would have hit too close to home if Lil‘ Kim were the prisoner, wouldn‘t it, since Lil‘ Kim is herself an ex-con? Read more »
It‘s the sixth week of competition on Dancing with the Stars, and there are only eight couples left on the show.  Tonight, the couples will either be performing a jive or a rumba, two very difficult styles.  The jumping jive requires a lot of strength and stamina and is very fast-paced requiring lots of charisma and energy.  The rumba is all about slow, sensual seduction, but it also requires a lot of strength since you have to be in complete control of your movements at all times.  Any little mistake will be visible, but you also have to worry about the romantic chemistry between the partners.Either way, it should make for a very entertaining performance show tonight.  As we saw last week when David Alan Grier was kicked off, Dancing with the Stars is not just about who can dance the best.  The stars have to connect with the audience as well.I‘ll do my best to keep you entertained throughout the night.  Stay with me! Read more »

The news of Steve-O‘s elimination probably came as no surprise to most fans of Dancing with the Stars last night. He has consistently been scoring at or near the bottom of the leaderboard every week, and the judges were getting visibly impatient with him.For his very last performance on Dancing with the Stars, he and his professional partner Lacey Schwimmer danced a rumba that earned them the widest spread in judges‘ scores that I‘ve ever seen. Carrie Ann Inaba was evidently pleased with the performance, rewarding them with a 7. On the other hand, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli couldn‘t be harsher, giving him a 4 and a 5, respectively. Read more »
There’s some buzz surrounding last week’s Dancing with the Stars as Chuck Wicks ended the Viennese waltz down on one knee in front of professional dance partner and real-life girlfriend Julianne Hough.  It makes you wonder if he‘s going to pop the big question soon.  While the country music singer isn’t giving away any details, he does hint that marriage is definitely in the cards for him and Julianne.“I will tell you that we have a great, great relationship,” Wicks told TV Guide.  “We definitely talk about it. It‘s definitely in the future.  It‘s one of those things where it‘s supposed to be a surprise! I‘ll tell you this — I‘m not going to do it on the show, but it‘s not like we don‘t talk about it or think about it or we don‘t know that that‘s the next step.  All in due time.  Right now we love where we are and we definitely want to grow from where we are. That‘s like the safest answer in the world, huh?” Read more »

Dancing with the Stars is all set to eliminate yet another celebrity and professional dancer from the competition tonight.Last night, the eight remaining couples jumped in the jive or sizzled in the rumba.  It was a night of upsets, sort of, with Lil‘ Kim and Derek taking control of the top spot of the judges‘ leaderboard. All the dancers‘ fates are now in the hands of America.  Stay with me to find out which celebrities will find themselves in the bottom two, and which one will be leaving the competition tonight. Read more »
Steve-O’s gone.  And as much as we’d like him to carry on with his entertaining antics on Dancing with the Stars, there’s nothing we can do about it.  He got eliminated on Tuesday’s Results Show following his not-so-impressive rumba, and while he would have loved to linger on the competition, the Jackass prankster have already accepted his inevitable fate. He also took the bad news rather well. "It was awesome," Steve-O told Eonline.com. "I got to stick around as long as Cloris Leachman.  Who‘s the real champion? I got cookies at the end." Read more »
David Alan Grier, who was eliminated on the fifth week of Dancing with the Stars, is embarrassed about the profanity-laced tirades he directed at the show‘s judges following his stint on the competitive reality series. During an interview with Access Hollywood, Grier, who is known for his work on the sketch comedy television show In Living Color and the comedy program Chocolate News, said that he took Dancing with the Stars seriously but he never felt that he stood a chance with the judges, before directly ranting about judge Carrie Ann Inaba, whom he had previously worked with on In Living Color. Read more »
It seems like the microphone pack is becoming the leading cause of injury on Dancing with the Stars this season.Recently ousted Steve-O was sidelined for a whole week after hurting his back by doing a front flip and landing on his mic pack. Dancing with the Stars has claimed yet another victim. The latest is nine-time World Champion rodeo cowboy Ty Murray, who took a hit to the eye Wednesday. During a group routine practice for Dancing with the Stars, Murray, 39, threw his partner Chelsie Hightower, 19, in the air, but her microphone pack fell off and struck Murray in the eye."It was bleeding for a little while," Murray told People, "and is slightly back and blue but I kept ice on it. It‘s not a big deal to me because in bull riding you see that from time to time, but I guess people aren‘t used to seeing a little blood in the ballroom." Read more »

OK, I am begin a bit provocative in my headline. I don‘t actually think that Gilles Marini, the Frenchie who has taken the American reality ballroom scene by storm, is falling by any means. He scored a 27 last night on Dancing with the Stars for his beautiful Viennese waltz, which is an excellent score by any standard. The thing is, a 27 is also the score that Chuck Wicks received for his samba. Moreover, it is only three points higher than the 24 that Ty Murray earned Monday night, when the difference in scores has usually been more like 8 points.  Read more »
We are now in the seventh week of competition on Dancing with the Stars and the dancers are all really beginning to hit their strides. Most of the chaff has been separated out from the 13 original celebrities who started this dancing journey. Now, the stars who really shine get to show off their newly acquired skills one more time.Tonight, each of the seven remaining couples will perform one unlearned style showcased in the first six weeks of the season. It seems that Steve-O is really trying to make amends for past mistakes. Since his intervention, the Jackass prankster has struggled to stay clean, sober, and focused on rebuilding ties with his family and friends whom he hurt during his addiction. Now faced with the challenge of living a wholesome life while still being the fun daredevil that everyone loves, Steve-O has decided to show the world how truly difficult it is to mend his life with a new documentary called Steve-O: Demise and Rise.Airing on May 3 at 10pm ET/PT on MTV, Steve-O: Demise and Rise is a self-documented look inside the mind of a man struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Country singer Jewel was originally one of the 13 celebrity contestants competing on Dancing with the Stars season 8 but her stint on the competitive reality series was cut short due to a leg injury she sustained during rehearsals for the show. "I was thinking about it," Jewel told Hollyscoop of the possibility of seeing her on the next season of Dancing with the Stars. "My leg is coming along. I think it‘s almost better. Dancing with the Stars eliminated its sixth celebrity of the season last night. It was football legend Lawrence Taylor‘s turn to exit the dance floor, and everyone involved heaved a collective sigh of relief. We at home felt relief because we will now no longer have to watch Lawrence Taylor pretend to look like he‘s enjoying himself. Tom Bergeron was probably relieved that he could finally stop making golf jokes, and LT himself is undoubtedly very relieved that he doesn‘t have to dance anymore and he can get back to the links. At the beginning of this season of Dancing with the Stars, I admired Lawrence Taylor for his strong work ethic. He looked like he was the hardest-working celebrity of this season‘s cast. His rehearsal tapes were filled with footage of him wanting to repeat his routine over and over and over until he got it just right.  Read more »
Finally, things are becoming a lot more iiiiiinteresting on Dancing with the Stars! On last night‘s performance show, every single couple left in the competition really worked hard and improved greatly. This week‘s Dancing with the Stars results show was probably one of the most interesting results shows that I have seen. I‘m not usually a fan of results shows because they are so tedious and they usually draw out the elimination announcement until the very end of the hour, pretty much forcing us to waste our evenings. But on this week‘s Dancing with the Stars results show, viewers were treated to a mini competition of professionals, making it very much like a performance show. The competition was between six professional dancers, three men and three women, who are all vying for a spot on next season‘s professional lineup. They performed in three groups of two, but since only one dancer is guaranteed a spot, it was really every dancer for his or herself.  Read more »
Have you ever noticed that certain glow celebrities and their professional dancing partners seem to have on Dancing with the Stars? This week on Dancing with the Stars, fans didn‘t get to see Melissa Rycroft perform live. She reportedly suffered a hairline fracture to her rib last week, which only got worse with painstaking dance rehearsals. Thus, she was forced to sit out during Monday‘s performance show. To be fair to the rest of the cast, the judges had to score Rycroft and her professional dance partner Tony Dovolani based on their rehearsal video of the jive, which only earned 21 points out of 30, dropping Rycroft to last place. "I was cringing," Rycroft said of being judged based on her rehearsal alone. "You never want to be judged on something you aren‘t doing full-out. I think if you did the numbers before the show, we shouldn‘t be here right now. Mathematically, we shouldn‘t be here right now. But I think that shows the audience 100 percent saved us." Read more »

Melissa Rycroft and her partner Tony Dovolani made a spectacular comeback on Monday night‘s Dancing with the Stars, scoring their first 30 in the season with a graceful waltz and a sexy salsa. Last week, however, the couple nearly escaped elimination since Melissa didn‘t make it to the live show after sustaining a rib injury. As a result, the judges based her score on a taped rehearsal, just like what happened to contestant Steve-O. This doesn‘t seem fair, according to Jewel, an original contestant on Dancing with the Stars season 8 who was forced to withdraw due to fractures in the tibia of both legs and was replaced by Girls Next Door star Holly Madison. The country singer commented on her husband and Dancing with the Stars contestant Ty Murray‘s website that if a contestant is too injured to compete live then they shouldn‘t be judged based on a taped rehearsal performance.  Read more »
Has Holly Madison found herself a new man? Word on the street is that the former Girls Next Door star and Dancing with the Stars season 8 contestant is dating Russell Brand, an English comedian actor who achieved mainstream fame in the U.K. for presenting a Big Brother spin-off, Big Brother‘s Big Mouth, and for his radio show, among other television series and award ceremonies. Still doesn‘t ring a bell? You might remember him for his stint as Kristen Bell‘s on-screen boyfriend, British rocker Aldous Snow, in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and as Mickey in Bedtime Stories.According to thefablife.com, The Girl Next Door star was spotted getting cozy with Brand at P.Diddy‘s table at TAO in Las Vegas during Jay-Z‘s Fight Night Party last Saturday. To the surprise of many, Lil‘ Kim and professional dance partner Derek Hough became the ninth couple eliminated from Dancing with the Stars‘ eighth season during Tuesday‘s live results show broadcast on ABC. With only four contestants left in the running, Dancing with the Stars is inching closer to its finale, prompting ABC to be on the lookout for a new batch of celebrity contestants for season 9. Now, many hopefuls are starting to express their desire to join the hit series, including Teen pop queen and Broadway star Deborah Ann "Debbie" Gibson.Gibson became famous in the late 1980s and the early 1990s as a singer who released hits like "Electric Youth" and "Only in My Dreams." She was also the youngest female to write, produce, and perform a Billboard Hot 100 number 1 hit single with her song "Foolish Beat," effectively taking the crown from her then teen idol George Michael. Read more »
In a world... where the one who wields the mirror ball reigns supreme ... one man must put away his cowboy hat... and perform the impossible... to become... a ballroom dancer...!If Ty Murray defies all odds and becomes the eighth winner of Dancing with the Stars, I predict that riots would ensue. Don‘t underestimate the fierceness of dance fans. Remember the WTO riots that occurred in Seattle in 1999? That will seem like a pleasant exchange of ideas in comparison. And those riots that European soccer fans always seem to be getting themselves into? Those will seem like a polite debate about the weather over a cup of tea.  Read more »

Last night, the inevitable happened on Dancing with the Stars. Cowboy Ty Murray was sent home, leaving viewers with Melissa Rycroft, Shawn Johnson and Gilles Marini as the final three contenders of season 8. Whether it‘s because of precise execution, grace or sex appeal, all three all three have proven they have what it takes to bring home the winner ball trophy. So what else can distinguish one player from another? It all boils down to their chemistry with their professional dance partners and TV Guide Magazine has dished out on the spark fuelling the final three.  Read more »
Woah there, cowboy!Last night on Dancing with the Stars, Ty Murray‘s unlikely journey towards becoming a ballroom dancer finally ended. He went from earning a paltry 14 in the first week to a pretty fantastic 18 in week 8. He exceeded everybody‘s expectations by getting through to the semi finals. Read more »
Cowboy Ty Murray finally rode off into the sunset after 10 weeks and several close calls on Dancing with the Stars, still proving to some extent that skills (and not a solid fan base) will keep you in the game.
