Tonight's episode of CSI was packed with guest stars. Katy Sagal played a diva actress, named Annabelle, on a sitcom. Her husband Bud (a clever nod to Married With Children) was portrayed by Diedrich Bader. The actress turned up dead in her apartment, with a large amount of blood around her head. The CSI team shows up to crack the case and everybody on set in a suspect. Grissom figures out that she hit her head on a nearby table, indicating a struggle. He's shocked to find a rubber chicken jammed down her throat.

If you're a fan of Battlestar Galactica and CSI:, prepare to be disappointed. Really, super-duper disappointed. TV Guide's Michael Ausiello is reporting that Katee Sackhoff (who plays Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica, but you already knew that) was tantalizingly close to joining the cast of CSI as Jorja Fox's kinda, sorta replacement. The new character, named Bryce Adams, was set to be a series regular. Executive producers and show runners were all jacked up and ready to welcome Sackhoff to the CSI family. They basically thought it was a done deal, according to Ausiello. However, at the last minute, executives from CBS and Jerry Bruckheimer's production company got cold feet. They didn't feel Katee was right for the role, apparently, and now the search for Bryce Adams has been re-opened.

Tonight's CSI begins with a crazy woman at the police department dressed head-to-toe in aluminum foil, spewing her theory of time and space. She's actually more entertaining than a lot of string theorists that I know, and as an former physicist, I know plenty. She says, "The invasion is tonight." Apparently, she's a regular at the station, surfacing nearly every night to file random complaints.
Next some other officers examine a dead deer. It seems that a very drunk man (like, BAC-of-2.8-drunk) shot the deer with a crossbow. The police interrogate him, but he tries to make a break for. He runs out into the hallway, crashing through a window, and the officers follow him into the room where Foil Lady is. The man bumps into Foil Lady, just as a cop sprays him with pepper spray and shoots him with a stun gun. The only thing is, as soon as he does, the guy bursts into flames and dies. Foil Lady says, "Now do you believe me?" It's getting curiouser and curiouser.

CSI star Gary Dourdan has some issues. CBS recently announced that Dourdan would be leaving the series after this season. While the agreement was said to be mutual, CBS did admit that Dourdan had some personal issues that played a part in his departure. Those personal problems came to a head Monday morning in Palm Springs. TMZ is reporting that Dourdan was arrested at 5:20am Monday morning on suspicion of possession of heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and prescription drugs. That's some major stuff. Dourdan was found by police asleep in his car on the side of the road.

Anthony Zuiker, creator and executive producer of the CSI franchise, is planning to write his memoirs. He has already signed a deal with Collins, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, which will release his book in the fall of 2009.
Tentatively titled Mr. CSI, the book will tell the story of how Zuiker became a big name in Hollywood, tapping into his journey from bellhop in Las Vegas to creator of the hit CSI franchise. More importantly, it will also be shedding light on his gangster father.

Tonight's episode of CSI opens with a dramatic shooting in a dark room, a platinum blonde the victim. Gil (William Petersen) and Nick (George Eads) are the first ones at the scene the next day. The vic has two entry wounds, two exit wounds, both through-and-throughs. There are seven empty bullet casings on the floor. The CSIs suspect that she might have interrupted an armed burglary because the drawers have been rifled through. Gil sees a strange, circular blood drop on the floor, far from the victim that dropped to the floor through a whole in the ceiling. Nick orders the rest of the CSI team check the apartment above this one, as Gil looks through this crazy periscope thing. He sees a second victim in the apartment above.

The anticipated crossover between CSI and Two and a Half Men does not come as a surprise anymore. Ever since the idea was hatched last year, the proposed switcheroo has somewhat left fans apprehensive, but mostly excited and eager to find out how things will pan out for Anthony E. Zuiker's forensic drama as it trades writers with Chuck Lorre's sitcom.
As reported previously, CSI's crossover episode will revolve around a female sitcom star who is killed by someone fed up with her back-stabbing ways. You can now find out more about this installment, as well as Two and Half Men's crossover episode preview after the jump.
