Previously on Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants, two cliques started to form in the Crowned house. The swimsuit clinic saw the daughters in charge. The Tomboy Queens de-sashed The Realists. There are nine pairs left. Who will be de-sashed tonight?
Tonight's Crowned begins with a kind of annoying theme song. Am I off my rocker, or is this the first time they are using this song? The Goody-Two-Shoes clique make a tearful toast to Alana and Annette, while the Mean Girls clique party the night away.

Carson Kressley has plenty of practice giving advice, as he spent several seasons as the fashion guru on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. His role on Crowned might be more focused on judging and critiquing, but his comments can't help but give the savvier contestants some guidance as they move on in the competition.
And now he's got a new gig, back to the purer style of doling out the fashion related advice. However, this time, it's not aimed at the “Straight Guy,” rather the everyday woman, and aims to teach her How to Look Better Naked.

Alana and Annette were the second mother-daughter team to be eliminated from the CW's newest reality show, Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants. Hailing from Hayward, California, Alana, 19, and her mother Annette, 44, wanted to compete in the pageant show to have some fun and embark on an adventure. Unfortunately, their adventure ended this Wednesday when their exercise routine failed to impressed the judges.
However, throughout their two weeks in the competition, they proved to be one of the more genuine and likeable teams on the show. Alana and Annette spoke to BuddyTV and revealed that at least one-half of their team new all along what "Silent But Deadly" actually means. Below, you'll find an audiofile and a complete transcript of the interview.

Last week on Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants, Shanna Moakler welcomed 11 mother-daughter pairs to the Barbie doll mansion. And at the first de-sashing ceremony, we were introduced to the bejeweled scissors that were responsible for de-sashing the Reigning A's.
Tonight's Crowned begins after the first de-sashing ceremony. Tenia and Angela (Team Skin Deep) express their concern over the gigantic bejeweled scissors. Some other teams who came up with less than desirable team names get to work on making up new ones. Alana and Annette, formerly Silent But Deadly, decide they want to be called The Realists instead. Way to undersell yourself, ladies. Annette wants to make sure that "realist" is a real word and doesn't have any other connotations. Patty and Laura are now the Sincere, Sexy Redheads; Jill and Nicole are now the Goal Getters; Mindy and Rachelle are now the Gifted Dolls; and Heather and Brenda are now the Goal Driven Gals.

Having no prior experience in pageantry did not stop Annette and Alana, a mother and daughter from Hayward, California, from joining The CW's new reality competition, Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants. Annette, 44, said that she and their daughter decided to try out for the series upon realizing it was time for them to “shake things up.”
"We have always been so close throughout the years and thought this would be a fun experience to share together," Annette told the Contra Costa Times via email, as the network does not allow contestants to be in contact with the media in person until they are eliminated from the competition. "We were both at a point in our lives where we needed to shake things up."

Yesss! The most anticipated reality series of the year has finally arrived! It is Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants, and it is going to rock your world. The episode opens with a montage of clips from the coming season. It looks promising, especially the bit about how every mother-daughter relationship will be put to the test. Full disclosure: I have mommy issues, which is why I predict I will love this show!
A bus toting all 11 mother-daughter teams makes its way up the street. Laura confessionals that even though she and her mother Patty don't have pageant experience, they are definitely the ones to beat. Oh my gosh, Patty has the same blank look that Catherine O'Hara had in Waiting for Guffman. Hollis wants to show girls all across the country that beauty comes in many forms. Wow, it's difficult to tell who is the mother and who is the daughter with some of these pairs.

When the cast of judges was announced for the unexpectedly highly-anticipated new series Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants, some viewers might have been a bit confused. The experts who will be evaluating our mother-daughter duos through this special pageant are Shanna Moakley, Carson Kressley, and Cynthia Garrett.
One of the judges is a completely obvious choice, but the other two might not have been immediately apparent.

Premiering next Wednesday night at 9pm, Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants is the early Christmas present that I didn't even know I wanted, but now that I know about it, I definitely cannot live without it.
Now, I'm not usually a fan of pageants, although I admit that I did gawk uncomfortably at Miss South Carolina's amazingly incoherent explanation of why Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map. But what makes Crowned so spectacularly good that it's bad is that the geniuses who dreamed it up were smart enough to make it a mother-daughter competition. Eleven mother-daughter teams compete in an eight-week-long pageant competition for a chance to win $100,000 and a pair of fabulous tiaras.
